why some men hit woman and why some don't

Domestic violence, whether committed by men or woman, is deplorable and only perpetrated by mentally unstable losers lacking in self confidence.

Professional psychiatic help or a swift kick to the head are recommended treatments.

Even sadder is that the victims who stay with their abusive partners are almost certainly suffering from a psychological disorder themselves (either pre-existing or brought on by the abuse).

I know some men who hit "on" women, and some men who don't....

...........the answer to that one is easy.

...But men hitting women, that has to be some insecurity thing, surely. It's a bit of a harsh subject but it happens around the world and that's that. It's got to be down to weakness.............

When a man hits a woman, he is no longer a man.....

..........unless he's a pimp

thanks, no one hitting me.( I left the one who does. )

Infact is in Thailand happen a lot with Thai men.(One time I see on the street.)

I just curious and want to know how you guys control when you phisically stronger.

It is not about who is stronger, at least for those of us who don't beat women. For me it is about why would I want to hurt the person I love?

Unless someone does something so outrageous as to make me very very angry, there is no anger to control. Maintaining a cool heart always provides a better solution than getting angry anyway. If you can remember that you will always win one way or another. :)

I don't know about thailand but beating your partner and how you treat women can be traced back to childhood especially if you grew up in an abusive home and it was generally excepted that it was ok to sort out problems with violence rather than doing it verbally and negotiating a positive outcome.

In some situations it is a learn't behavior and sometimes it's not.

it used to be my understanding that spousal abuse ( or any kind of violence) was a learned behaviour...."my dad hit my mom so i'll hit you" sort of thing. Some would argue that it's "in the genes".....but one thing's for sure, not every man does it or would do it...so I don't think it's as simple as "self control"....like "avoiding farting in public".....

one of my first observations about asian culture (japanese, korean, and thai)was that men hit their wives, girlfriends etc...apparantly, alot. It's of course usually frowned upon, but also often "shrugged" away as though it's simply an unhappy reality...much like traffic cops taking bribes is simply part of daily routine in bangkok.

so why do men hit their wives? my guess is their father's did it and the cultural backlash for doing it isn't a strong enough deterant.

This is really hard to express without seeming like a bad guy to some, but it may not always be the man's fault.

Some women will test their limits just as children do until they find the point where they can't push the guy around anymore. The woman in this case becomes very abusive especially to the man who has a legally binding marriage license. The animals inate response is fight or flight when it comes to the point of confrontation. The man feels trapped in the corner. He wants so much to preserve the relationship but he cannot because he is hearing all kinds of demands and nagging and verbal abuse. He cannot easily escape, and he gets frustrated and in an effort to save the relationship will hit the woman to try to put her in her place rather than abandoning her.

I am not condoning the hitting of women, but I understand some guys who do it. I have been pushed a few times to the point where I considered it (only momentarily). But I decided just had to leave the psycho biatch and pick up the pieces of my broken heart and move on with my life without her.

Violence solves nothing. It only escalates.

While I agree with Condotown that there are some women who really know how to 'f' with a guys head, as soon as the temprature begins to rise it's time to end the relationship. If it ever comes to physical violence (unless you're just defending yourself) you need to see someone about anger issues.

I agree for the most part, it is a learned behavoir. In my experience responding to domestice violence calls I found that a majority of the husbands that abuse their wives were a born in the 1940s when it was common for the husband to beat his wife.

I responded to very few calls where the husband was born in the 1960s. Maybe this is because they were born in the "peace, love, never take a bath" decade.

But then came those born in the 1970s and 1980s. These guys grew up where violence on the streets, in video games and on television was the norm. To some of them violence is an acceptable form of behavior and they don't hesitate to use it on anyone. It seems we have come full circle.

Luckily, in the USA, most states have strict domestic violence laws. In California the mere threat of violence means a mandatory arrest. There is no bail. The arrested party, male or female, must see a judge who then determines if bail is warranted.

And yes... Wives do hit, kick, stab and shoot their husbands. It is not just one sided.

If someone is abused the best course of action is to get out of the relationship before it gets worse. Many abusive relationships end in the ultimate case of domestic violence... Homicide.

why some men hit woman and why some don't. How they control it?

why don't you ask why some girl get hit on and some don't..

TOPS actually has a special on "stupid" as long as you remember your membership number. I end up getting it every weekend right before I go drinking.

it would have to be on sale there...otherwise how could they get people to pay on average 20% more!

Unfortunately, some people like to shop a little too much!

If someone is hitting you leave them, he'll only stop until the next time.

and if they threaten to kill you if you leave, take them seriously at their word, and kill them (or have them killed) before they get the chance.

most men don't need a lot of self-control to avoid beating the snot out of their wife/girlfriend/children. the men who do this are seriously f**ked up and should be avoided at all costs (not just by women but by men--some violent psychotics can be entertaining to have around, but the ones that beat wives/girlfriends/children etc have no sense of loyalty).

My mates sister in law just went back to her ex after one year apart she left him because he repeatedly knocked her about.

This girls mother says some maybe she likes the attention she gets after she gets knocked about.

You cant really help a girl like this, who wont help herself.

She might think he change ....

Like my best friend said "First time is shame on him second is shame on her."

I think the real question is why some women can accept to be hit by their guys?? There is always a choice ~

seems like the same question hbkbkk was asking, only worded a bit different. it's a relevant question.
