zeusbheld
Sarah Vaughan. aside from the disturbing spectacle of a tall white guy with a shaved head singing exactly like an immensely talented black woman... Vaughan was (arguably) the greatest female jazz singer. hell, (arguably) the greatest jazz singer.

Mazzy
Jacques Brel. He didn't have the biggest voice. But he's one of the most intense performer I've come accross. In English, it would probably be Chris Cornell. He's got a really interesting, unique & soothing voice when he shouts. He's one of those heavy metal singer that could probably do a pretty good job singing opera instead.
