Damnam1
I would love to study German. There are many Germans/Swiss around my working place. Many times they speak in German because they think I/we don't understand. Lost in Translation :x If I have a luxury of time I would love to get back on track with my French and it would be nice to study German as well. Hello, german dialects can be veeeeery tricky. Some guys from Bavaria might sit next to me talking in dialect and in detail about their last gik and I would not even grasp a single word  It might be the same with Thai language compared to phasaa Lao or Khmer dialect. Although Germany is only 1000 km from South to North, aboriginees from both directions could not talk to each other unless they are able to speak Hochdeutsch. CiaranM
I wouldn't mind learning a bit of Spanish. Not for travel purposes of course what with no one actually speaking it anywhere, but cos it's just so damn sexy spoken by those dusky, big-bosomed latino birds. but it might not sound quite so damm sexy spoken by a pink big bosomed farang guy with a manchester accent !!! and who cares what the girls r actually saying when u r just staring at their bosoms !!! pluggy
I am German. Some answers are so stupiid i can only regret people can't think. If you are able to speak rather good German, you will have no problems to get a good paid job at so many German companies have subsaderies in Thailand, not to talk about Lufthansa and Thai Airways. Ofcourse Spanish is spoken more in the world, but tell me one important industry nation in the world spanish is spoken. And the hint to the Goethe Institut in Bangkok I can recomend too. No need to express your opinion the harsh german way.I know how you mean it, but others will never grasp the way germans talk to each other. We have lost the war, remember ? And the majority here are on the winners side. Thanks for the flowers - of course Goethe institut is not only the best option to learn german in BKK, but also a good way to find some sophisticated people practising a little bit of german lifestyle and culture abroad. But be assured that today it sounds way more smooth than it used to be. @Jlanne - there are lots of grumpies, right. Chatty
Ok I should go to Goethe institute then.... May be for someone this is stupid idea to learn German... but I know myself what I will use it for. If I didn't know why I wanna learn German language I would say "Is it good to learn German?" but I asked "where?" My thought learning the other languages no matter what is benefits. My workplace has international customers so... if I know any languages more than Thai HR will pay and I got extra pay every month for English language, my Japanese still poor, I might go back to Japanese Language school next year. However, German is interesting, not many colleagues can speak German, so cool if I can.
