AAAum
which does one come first "goes" or "comes"? (what comes around goes around or what goes around comes around)If that idiom means something like "karma" then I pretty much believe it works for everything. "what comes around goes around" ka and yes, it's about "karma" ·Ó´Õä´é´Õ ·ÓªÑèÇä´éªÑèÇ

Comes all the way back around......What goes around comes around Yeah What goes around comes around..." it would be clearer if you sing ka.... "yeah"
Stramash
Justin had it right...it's 'what goes around comes around' what goes around, comes around; 1. The status eventually returns to its original value after completing some sort of cycle. 2. A person's actions, whether good or bad, will often have consequences for that person. So karma sums it up well. But, if someone hurts or does wrong by you, and you use this phrase in the hope that they will get whats coming to them...are you then guilty of thinking bad thoughts and thus placing yourself in your own Karmic circle?? iam_sweethoney
I do believe in that... I'm a Buddhist and I'm really proud of it... The karma thing has kept me in the good path for all my life because if I dont want anything or anyone bad in my life.. I have to do the good deeds and be good to others ... Yet, I cannot say that it works for everything... Some times shits happen in my life and I wonder why they happen to me... Some times you think you have done your best but still you get the bad things back... It's life as French say C' est la vie... Face it and enjoy it... xoxo B. Agar
I do believe it does. People always get what is coming to them, if not sooner, it sure comes later. Generalization but it helps to explain the life's wisdom" in simlpe way Let say if you enjoy doing good things you more likely to be around good people ( avoid bad ) consequantly good things will happen to you. Guess what may happen if you enjoy doing bad things ? You more like get in trouble.

SweetieBabie
I do believe in Karma.... Look at Tuksin, what he had done, and now it's haunting him. A man with no land to call home, runing like a headless chicken.... I also do believe how to treat other people as how i want to be treated... If you treat other people badly, don't expect them to be nice to you back...

I get your point also, but I do not agree completely in what you wrote. Just becuase you are a good person, and do good things, does not mean that everyone around you will be good, or do good. Usually the ones you would least expect to hurt you that are close to you are the ones that end up hurting you. That's more common in my opinion. But, if someone hurts or does wrong by you, and you use this phrase in the hope that they will get whats coming to them...are you then guilty of thinking bad thoughts and thus placing yourself in your own Karmic circle?? Thank you for correction. After searching it yesterday, i found both of them... and first time i saw this, they said "what comes around goes around".... nevermind and...yes...it's about "karma" ... this word can sum it up well... for what you asked (me?).... i'm not sure you refer/speak to it either generally or specifically.... it's possibly claimed.... whatever happened... Karma involved.... BUT if we think about it rationally... anyone can see the truth insides.... somehow, nothing about Karma... but ACTIONS and CONSEQUENCES... on the other hand, we said about Karma... maybe to remind ourselves to do good... avoid bad... in a hope that we would get something good in "return"... like "you get what you give" Come back to my question..."Does it work for everything?" for my own, i dont think it can be USED as the ANSWER for everything... my point is... for example; in Thai society (from my observation and experience)... whatever happened...and when they couldnt find the (root) cause or the answer for any situation... they CHOOSE to claim it as "karma" does it.... and i found people use it more often when they are frustrated and tired... once they realize the whole picture they would know it's just about action and consequence... but wait a minute.... then the another problem arised after....how to loose the knot (s)?... oh!! they blamed it as "karma" again....

English_Bob
No, sadly it doesn't work. There are plenty of people who live evil lives and die surrounded by wealth and power. The Generals of Burma don't seem too worried about it. Chairman Mao didn't do so badly. If there is a Heaven and a Hell, then maybe we will all be judged accordingly, but on earth? People don't always get what they deserve. BUT I think everyone(good or bad) gets some crap in their life at some time... I used to work for a guy who was an alcoholic coke-head. He was rude and obnoxious to everyone - staff and customers. And I used to think, "Why is that guy living such a great easy life, whereas I have to work my ass off?" Well, my life recently took a turn for the better, in fact several turns for the better. And I heard he's having business problems. I'm sure he'll bounce back, but right now I kind of feel pretty satisfied with my life and I guess he's feeling pretty shitty... ...I might go and pee in his soup. Mao set in motion events that caused millions to die. He might not seem to have reaped his karma but many did and with karma is rebirth and there he would be reborn as something suffering eternally me hopes.
