It was quite exciting today... My German language class started today. Sponsor by p'Andy... I went to Goethe Institute, it was such a nice place.... the classroom was good as well. My teacher, she was Thai. She could speak Thai but she always tried to speak German in class. That was good.... cuz I didn't know German, not a word.We began with the greeting... same teaching structure as the other language.

Guten Morgan! Guten Tag! Guten Abend! Gute Nacht! Auf Wiedersehen! Tschus!Wer sind sie? Ich bin ................. and more.... Besides, I got to do "Hausaufgabe" not sure I spell it right, richtig once again for these picsPhotobucketPhotobucket For me I think it's easier then Japanese... at least they use almost same as English alphabet. Besides, our teacher tried to keep us communicate with her and each others... we had role play today... so fun for me.I thought I was the oldest in class... but has someone older than me... i'm happy now.

Wunderbar ;-)

Just spend a lot of time on it and you will do fine. Keeping motivated is the hardest part, especially when you get to all the "der" and "die" forms for every word...

Ich wohne in Hong Kong und ich komme aus Japan. Japanese ist leicht aber Deutsch ist nicht leicht.

I love German language, but grammar is really difficult. It is almost impossible to grasp of grammar to me.

Hope you'll enjoy your study. ;)

Enjoy Der Die Das thingy... "Wer sind Sie" isn't it?

My auntie speak Swiss-German so I been hearing this language for years.. I can understand very little bit. I took one beginning course since '03. Now I still can tell A-Z in Deutsch and can count 1-10... bravo me!!! LOL ****! I think the key is not only 1-10 but 1-20? :D Ich Vergessen. It's easy if about spelling coz English and German spell quite similar but pronounce different. I cant guess anything if it's Italian or French.

Na dann hab viel Spass dabei. Uebrigens - Deutsch lernen ist leichter, als Du denkst. Lass Dich nur nicht verrueckt machen von dem, was die Leute (hier) sagen.

German the 3rd most difficult language to learn ? I find that difficult to believe. Cantonese Chinese is often cited as the most difficult one and a very little know language of Finnish is usually on the 2nd place. German has many familiar words from french, spanish and italian, even swedish and dutch. Speaking one of those languages enables one to find many similarities in others.

I speak fluent german and swedish, but can speak and understand quite a bit of spanish, french, danish, dutch and italian. Even a bit of portugese.I have never studied any of those languages.

As to danish language, I would say it is a mixture of swedish and german, spoken with a dutch accent. Closely related to the accent spoken in southern sweden.

I think you will find german not that difficult to learn. Sure grammar is always painful but don't be worried too much about speaking it 100% correctly. After all you will want to be able to communicate and nobody cares about grammar in those situations. Just build up your vocabulary and don't be shy to try to use it.

Judging by the use of the language by you after just one lesson, you seem to pick it up very quickly.

Ich wuensche dir viel Erfolg :o)
