You'll have a blast there, as long as you learn to accept the over priced travel. Some cabs can really take the piss and charge well over a 1000bht just to get you home. Also, beware of unlicensed cabs. Theres a number you can call where they will arrange for a licensed cabby to pick you up, https://www.dialacab.co.uk/Default.aspx these are good, but maybe funky_house can provide some more . Also, the tube is a rip off too.

But other than that, London in the summertime is amazing. So many things going on. Enjoy, will hopefully see you there in November when I'm home for a couple of weeks.

For getting around London, have a look at the Oyster card, and Travel card schemes, and once you get to know your area, maybe the cycle hire scheme. You can hire a bicycle for an hour or two. They are everywhere in central London.
