drlovelife8
mmmm fair comment, but if the old fart were loaded, couldn't he just rent some world class company...... No sorry, steak still wins. That shrimp flicking harlot would drop her man like a stone for steak 365 days a year ,or at least fresh Somtam, and a large pay out upon his death! Then she can return to eating with her 'brother' and flicking shrimp as appose to her flicking her bean with her sugar daddy. But yes I do get what she means. English_Bob
I picture some sad old fart eating his steak with wine hating life...then picture a happy couple flinging shrimp at eachother on a street corner. I'm sorry, but you're all assuming that these are mutually exclusive... How about THESE scenarios? A sad old fart eating rice because he's poor, and a happy wealthy couple enjoying a fabulous expensive meal together. Why do you all persist in this fantasy that rich people are sad and lonely? I find rich people are usually happy and surrounded by friends. All of the naive posts about enjoying the simple, free things in life are fine... but what makes you think rich people can't enjoy these things too? I know the people from Bed Supperclub... and I've eaten with them on several occasions... sometimes we ate at five star restaurants, and sometimes we ate Isaan food from plastic plates. And we had a blast in all places... But we had the CHOICE!! Poor people CAN enjoy the cheap stuff, but they CAN'T enjoy the expensive stuff. SoBeIt
Not The End... Have you ever been very rich? Then how can you answer that question and be sure you're right? You might find that money gives you the chance to do all the things you love.... but more often.... and in nicer places. Ive never been very very rich. Let's say Ive never been poor.. Money might give me **** load of popper, alot of nice high heels etc.. All thoese things might make me glad and they give me what I want.. But my happiness are.. I want my children grow up healthy and become good ppl in the society. I want my aunt stop being bitter and really see that ppl around here love her. I want one of my friend gets well soon from her cancer.. All thoese thing above.. money cannot buy.. I think my happiness are slightly different than yours.. I like the comment from SomAmour there are 2 kind of happiness real happiness and illusion of happiness real happiness is require a lot of hard work within one self illusion of happiness needs a lot of hard work also, to get the money to buy what ever that they think it will make them happy! but this kind of happiness they have to work endlessly and most people are still lost in their illusion of happiness... I will not argue with you EB.. coz we're talking about 2 different things..
SweetieBabie
Yes, EB, we all have choices. and what we all want are not the same. let me quote mister Dale Canegie Everybody in this world is seeking happiness- and there is on sure way to find it. That is by controlling your thought. Happiness does not depend on outward conditions. It depends on the inner conditions. It is not what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it. Of course you just had to delete the first part of my comment...Thus taking it out of context, Burrito Boy! I was merely defending Burrito Doy's point that money doesn't have the final say in whether or not you're happy. There are always exceptions...and plenty of them when it comes to this discussion. I want one of my friend gets well soon from her cancer.. All thoese thing above.. money cannot buy.. 1) If you have a problem conceiving kids for some reason, money will buy amazing fertility treatment. You may end up with twins!!! If (and I hope this DOESN'T happen) your kids are born in some way unhealthy, money will aid being able to giove them excellent medical care. 2) Your Aunt can do these things. Good therapy, top psycholgical treatment if depression has set in. A nice holiday with a few family members might help too. But these all cost money. 3) I feel for your friend greatly. Hopefully he/she has some cash for excellent after care and medical treatment, both of which will reduce the return possibility. You might be able to buy happiness in a shop (knocking shop perhaps lol). Money also allowed you to travel and study internationally, learn new languages, buy a lap top for your tf posts and porn downloads as well as all your butt plus all your clothes and stuff. As I have already said. Unless you have been there [poor] (and in this country you are lucky to have been able to avoid it), it's hard to understand how much happiness money can provide you with. Guy B nips down to Bumrungrad and gets himself cured. How is Dale Carnegie's positive thinking gonna help Guy A? You want your children to grow up healthy, wealthy and wise? Good! English_Bob
BTW Carnegie had tapped into the average American's desire to have more self-confidence, and by 1914, he was earning $500 - the equivalent of nearly $10,000 now - every week. It's easy to spout this stuff when you're loaded. Ask a poor person for the real answer... better still ask someone who has been both rich and poor. See when they were happier. At one point in my life, I was estranged from my family. I was trying to pay for my own university tuition and worked two jobs. I became homeless, living hand to mouth because I couldn't afford to study and pay rent. When one of my teeth needed filling, I couldn't afford to go to the dentist, so I pulled it out myself. I couldn't even afford to get drunk to numb the pain. I struggled daily to get enough money to eat... you wanna know whether money has made me happier? Unless you've truly been poor, desperately poor, you can't know the true worth of money.

Don't be its slave. Make it work for you and then improve your life and (most probably) your happiness. If you have a bad accent or are a wrong'un, get elocution lessons if you wish. If you haven't been to another country, book a flight. If you want to make Mum and Dad happier, buy them something you know they have always wanted and others you love too. If you are in bad shape, join a good gym and get trained up by a pro. Get some HGH too lol. Eat great food, that alone will improve your feeling of well being. Being able to help those less fortunate (donation to a Tsunami fund). If you have plenty of cash you can do this. If you are strugling to make ends meet or dirt poor, doing all these wonderful things and all the other wonderful things mentioned in this thread become somewhere from hard to impossible to do. zeusbheld
huh, give me a clue, which ones? Just want to make a point that not having much money can be happier than less one. It's up to ourself. Money is what we use not it use us. We can use it for our basic need and some entertaining. Don't u agree that it's doesn't matter what u eat but it's more dilicious when u eat with someone u love most? Good nite, Rob. Sorry to be cruel to EB, i just have a crush on him Firstly, use the private messages for your carnal urges. Secondly......... It would take some f*cking amazing company and love to make Khow pak kai from a street stall in Khlong Toey taste as good as a top steak with a really fresh salad, a fantastic red wine. So no I don't think I can agree fully with "Don't u agree that it's doesn't matter what u eat but it's more dilicious when u eat with someone u love most?" Surely you know what she means... I picture some sad old fart eating his steak with wine hating life...then picture a happy couple flinging shrimp at eachother on a street corner. **** that if the steak's good enough and the wine's good enough *i* at least won't be hating life. If I have a son, and he can pass the exam to Suankularb Wittayalai (which is, btw, a public school) I will be very proud. I won't send my son to any "international" school in Thailand.
