Question

:D well i'm not a coffee maniac but i like to sit and read books or waiting for someone... or whatever... lol

I went to Banrei Coffee at Ekkamai branch on Friday night, i have to tell u it was let me down. The place is pretty cool... but it was so expensive (80 b. for tea + coffee mixed) the taste was so so and the time they made my coffee was too slow.. i had to wait for 30 mins for a cup of coffee

So, it makes me think about the places for a cup of coffee..

1. Starbuck at Soi Lung Suan, Soi Thong Lo.... and at my work place

2. Black Canyon every branches

3. O'Brian, Nailerd Building soi 5

What about u guys think..

Sarika Cafe on Suriwong Rd. has excellent coffee, but it's full of Japanese businessmen clogging up the place with smoke.

Good girl watching at the Starbucks in Emporium Tower.

But let's face it: Starbucks coffee sucks. It's overpriced and it isn't even that good. Most chain coffee sucks.

The best place is my dining room table in the morning. I make a STRONG cup of mocha java.

Starbucks is the place to see and be seen. But I like hot black coffee, and for that, Starbucks is expensive and not that good.

I much prefer Black Canyon for black coffee. It's cheaper and far better, and it's a Thai company. I'd rather spend my money at a Thai company than an international chain like Starbucks, especially when their product is better.

About coffee?... I like to make coffee at home coz I know what I like... Banrei coffee expensive and so so taste, for coffee shop ... whatever, if good place and smell good... so super!

yes

Banrei coffee so expensive... think about it. the resources for coffee are from Thailand. Thai ppl management with Thai staff. nothing import.... why is that expensive. Plus, so slow for making a cuppa...sorry 30 mins for my Tea + coffee mix..that was not good...

i wanna support thai coffee house but not at this price and service.

i always make my own coffee, pretty good but sometimes i wanna spend my time outside. Stay away for my dad n' mom, lol

and for killing the time a cool coffee shop can help

I like one coffee shop, i think it's called Danub... it's in Time Square Building 2nd floor. It's good to sit there and watch the world goes by

Ah yes, a topic with substance...that's what i'm talking about! :D

Well, rule of thumb, if the coffee is good, i don't care what the place is called...Loburts deli? lol

When in Thailand, every morning i am at coffeeworld, i think it's coffeeworld (sukimvit, soi 12 or 13?)...anyway, their coffee is pretty good and i can sit and watch the passersby and The Thai way of life :D

Yes, sometimes i get bothered by a hooker or 2, but just a smile and a no thank you seems to work...unless they want a cup of coffee, then they can join me! lol

I'm not as up to date on the different kinds of coffee yet (waiting for Sprite to help me there lol), but just a coffee strait shooter.

Maybe i'll try that "Loburt's deli" i've been hearing so much about :P

I agree absolutely. The best coffee in Thailand is on every street corner, just ask for "bag coffee", and you will have a fresh cup in a minute, 10 baht. Starbucks is so over roasted I now call it Charbucks. For other reasons some people in Vancouver call it Fourbucks (hehe). My best ever cups were in Indonesia though, mashed up fresh roasted beans in the bottom of a beer mug, pour in hot water and let the beans get soaked and sink to the bottom. MMMMMMmmmmmmmm :D

Only one answer here. . .Dunkin Donuts. . .

You should see the lines in the morning.

Dunkin Donuts??? hmmmm, i went to have a cup of coffee there once.. good price na.. coffee was ok but the atmosphere .... seems like i should take it away and drink somewhere else.

LOL. . .In America most Dunkin Donuts are Drive-Thru's and almost no one ever actually goes inside. We drink our coffee while we drive to work. :)

yeah i've seen on TV and movie

eeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww

dunkin donuts dont screw it up in any significant way, but it's hardly what i'd call coffee done right.

my fussy and pretentious opinion

best espresso / cappucino etc in new york, "mud." mud have a truck they serve from usually parked on astor place in the east village. they may have more than one i dont know. they also have a coffee bar in kiehl's store on 13th street and 3rd avenue. they have opened a cafe which i think is on 9th street between 2nd and 1st ave.

at home i drink regular coffee, light roast, grind my own beans, simple drip filter. favorite bean shop in nyc is porto rico on saint marks place.

two bangkok coffee questions

1. is there a good bean shop in bkk, where i can get a selection of fresh roasted coffee beans that have not been ground? i prefer specific beans to blends...

2. any bangkok coffee shops with good cappuccino and free wifi (802.11g or 802.11b) internet?

agree, just have to find a street corner with wireless internet. starbux sux ass, but it is a relief to find one when you're stuck in someplace uncivilized like greensboro, north carolinia :P
