ttesta
for a nice overview http://www.depthai.go.th/en/statistic_expro.shtml just have a look at the last column (export in % in us$ in 2001) Surprisingly, most money is not made with agricultural products but with computer stuff and cars ... Shrimps (in $) is even more important than rice.
Loburt
Thai cuisine. While not a classic "export" to be found on the Department of Export's list, it's what Thailand is best known for (aside from the world's oldest profession, unfortunately). Rice is important, but if you're eating rice, you usually have no idea where it was grown and don't care. Thailand has very few gems of its own left, and while it's jewelry designs are good, they are not the best in the world. Computers and parts, electronics, etc. How many people overseas own a Thai computer? How many know where the parts were manufactured? Tuna? No one knows or cares where the tuna came from. Handicrafts might have some potential, but they haven't been developed enough, at the high quality level, that the world is demanding them. And no one wants 99% of that OTOP crap. Thai cuisine, however, is bringing a small, little known country worldwide recognition.

The Punisher
red bull Hmmm... while the idea originated in Thailand, it is not the little brown bottles which are famous, it is the silver can with soda inside that is. Please correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't it an Austrian man who purchased the rights to the drink and established it as a world wide brand in 1987. The Thai manufacturer of the local Red Bull was and is not involved.

dumper
When we think of exports. We think of 'goods' and products. People have mentioned Red Bull. But also cultural/ sporting exports exsist. Muay Thai / Thai boxing is very popular now in Europe. Maybe some small rule changes but basically the same sport. This gives Thai boxers a chance to travel abroad and compete. I think Muay Thai's growth in popularity has had a good effect on Thailands reputation abroad.
