Anyway. Good match by Turkey tonight, i was happy for their win against Swiss. and now.. yeah, well done ! Cool match.

pretty remarkable win, considering they played CZECH REPUBLIC.

so tonight the decisive match between Germany vs Austria will take place. It is really strange, but the feelings towards the german team are somehow divided, because the performance wasnt utterly convincing.

Nowadays any underdog is able to beat the favourite. As long as we will see a good match I dont mind who wins, but I would dislike to see a german team win if they dont play well. We would love to see high technical standard combined with fighting spirit.

:shock: i watched 80% of the matches and i know what matches are going on. Yet nothing wrong with mentioning a match played some days ago ? i said i was happy for the match by Turkey against Swiss (days ago !)

They have performed slightly better than vs Croatia but still far from top level. Austria is ranked Nr. 92 in the world, ahead of Thailand which is Nr. 93...

My prediction for the final still is possible:

Spain - Portugal (or Italy). Although Italy disappointed me a little bit, they still are able to go through. They have the potential. What annoys me a little bit that the Romanian coach said that The Netherlands should better lose their match against Romania to avoid meeting Italy or France in the SF. I'm sure the Dutch will save some of their better players and give them some rest. But I don't hope they don't play that game that was suggested by their opponent's coach.

What amazed me is the good play of Croatia. I know they have good players, but most of them plays abroad. It ain't easy to form a real team when you don't have all your players all the time because they have obligations towards their club.

italy have a way of looking crappy throughout an entire tournament, making it into the final, and winning (often on PKs). don't count 'em out unti lthey're eliminated.

i didn't make a pick for finalist, but i said both germany and italy should do well (both may turn out wrong) and croatia was my dark horse pick (which is lookin' gooooood).

romania have a history of cynical play and cheap shots. they've had some talented players over the years but i still can't cheer for them because of that. (perhaps you can say the same about italy but italy are fun coz they're so GOOD at cynical play and cheap shots).

i doubt they'll blow it on purpose, but they'll do like croatia did and play their 2nd team.

If Turkey plays like they played in the 2nd half vs Czech's, it will be a damn good match vs Croatia. Croatia has been very consistent and smooth so I hope to see the same from Turkiye too!

for Turkey to pull this one off, they'll have to be even better. they'll be missing as many as 7 starters, including their starting keeper.

if i were betting i'd put it on croatia but turkey are playing with a lot of heart and i'd hesitate to count out even their second team. it'll be a fun one, and i'll stay up to watch that one for sure.

Italy have a way of looking putrid and still pulling it off in the big matches (anyone remember the group rounds of the last world cup?). also France, post Zidane, have looked a little lost in the attack, IMO. no real playmaker. i don't see trying to turn Ribery into a playmaker (even a forward one) as being the best use of his speed and work rate. to my eye, he's a natural winger. also, Viera's gonna be out tonight (injred)

NL DRAW Romania. this Romania team has some quality, but a lot of the quality players are headcases (Mutu for example). i think Romania may try to play it safe especially if italy haven't scored by the half. a big mistake, that will cost them. the dutch team have some depth, so their second stringers include a lot of players i'd *rather* see than the starters.

net result: NL, Italy go through.
