With his death still under investigation, a source close to Carradine told Tarts that the actor had been struggling with financial concerns but did not think the 72-year-old actor would have ever even considered taking his own life.

The source says Carradine desperately reached out to some friends in the business that he hadn?t been in contact with for quite some time just weeks ago, asking them to do whatever they could to help him boost the bank balance.

David had been trying to make some fast cash doing personal appearances and things," said the source. "It was a rough year for him, and he was a big spender and always in debt, but he wouldn't have killed himself over finances. He wouldn't have hung himself, that was too much effort. His ego would never have let him do that."

David Carradine ..... damn man. I remember so much of you from my childhood. Shows, cartoons, movies and a few funny fuckin commercials. Wish i knew you where here in Bangkok. Sorry. RIP!

I hope the new media dont **** on ur name too much. They cant seem to get their story straight. So many diff stories being reported left and right.

- TMZ reports

Another major development in the David Carradine death mystery -- this one found in the pages of his 2003 divorce papers, in which his ex wife accused him of a "potentially deadly" sexual appetite.

In divorce papers obtained by the Smoking Gun, David's ex-wife Marina accused him of participating in "deviant sexual behavior which was potentially deadly." The papers do not say specifically what that behavior entailed.

Police say David's body was found in his Bangkok hotel room Thursday morning with a rope around his neck and genitals. It was at first reported as a suicide, but police have since changed their tune by saying he could have died from an "accidental suffocation."

David's manager believes foul play is involved because he's been told David was found with his hands tied behind his back.

ftw

hope u at peace bro

similar to the death of michael huthence of inxs a few years back. autoerotic asphyxiation (aa) is a risky game to play (possibly part of its attraction). apparently, bertween 500-1000 people die every year in the us from blundered aa. aa is, as i undertsand it, heavily linked with or symptomatic of depressive behaviour and personality disorder. ironic that the signs were probably there, but carradine's avoidance behaviour meant that no-one realised what he was going through. tragic end.

man can't belive it .what is with this extreme sex thing! what next waterboarding with a happy ending? love the great police work here""Police Lt. Gen. Worapong Chewprecha told reporters that Carradine was found with a rope tied around his genitals and another rope around his neck.

"The two ropes were tied together," he said. "It is unclear whether he committed suicide or not or he died of suffocation or heart failure."

Oh yeah, I forgot all suicide victims tie a rope around their balls...

still rest in peace greasshopper

I see the Thai media's preoccupation with publishing images that most papers would baulk at has struck again -

Carradine's family now talking about legal action against the Thai papers who published forensic pics of Carradine's corpse in situ...

love to see how that court case pans out...if it ever comes to fruition.

international lawsuits are adventurous. it's the wild wild wezt of the legal profession. we may yet see some fireworks, as a lot of the thai legal system is modelled on western legal systems (including variious types of defamation) in principle if not in practice. carradine may live on in legal systems even longer than he does as an actor, or as someone who died with his schnitzel tied to his throat...

This guy would have gone down big in these forum. I am mildly interested whether when you get to 72 you do this in order to get it up or to relieve sexual frustration. I kind of hope it is the latter although this guy did say to me yesterday that he was turning 58 and also turning kinky. The whole thing is so gross.

Thairath has these sort of sensationalist pics of scandals, accidents and entertainment tabloid guff on a daily basis. Would be the main reason it is the biggest selling daily.

On another issue, I wonder how many Carradine fans will book suite 352 in the coming months?

Some insightful commentary on the issue by the great Khun Sanitsuda;

Shocking pix need a call for moral outrage

On Sunday, we were shocked by the photo of actor David Carradine in Thai Rath, the country's biggest and most influential newspaper. The next day, we were left speechless by the photo of a dead teenager, with two gunshot wounds oozing blood on to her barely covered breast in Khaosod, Thai Rath's rival newspaper.

Carradine's hanging body was shadowed to show restraint. In the same vein, the tip of the teenagers' breast was covered with a small strip, with her ID photo alongside.Imagine the pain of their families.

According to the print media's code of conduct, it is unethical to present news or photos which violate the human dignity of people in the news. The press are required to strictly protect the rights of children, women and the underprivileged and prohibited from presenting material that violates the public's sense of decency.

Seems like few care.
