Teddy
Horse semen sold in New Zealand pub A pub in New Zealand has introduced horse semen to its drinks menu, a stomach-churning addition tinged with the wholesome flavour of apple. The Green Man Pub in Wellington offers the 30ml shots for a princely sum of £12 - and apparently it's going down a treat with regulars. The gastro-pub serves the drink chilled fresh from a Christchurch stallion farm and each shot contains about 300 million individual horse sperm cells. Green Man pub co-owner Steven Drummond is to blame for the grimace-inducing drink, which he explained is knocked back by both male and female customers. He advises his customers to shoot the sticky horse semen back in one gulp rather than attempt to sip the bizarre concoction. He came up with the idea when trying to invent a new drink to spice-up a local food challenge. CiaranM
WTF .... from today's Guardian !!!! i guess i'll just make do with what i've already got !!! The organisation is particularly worried about backstreet procedures for men seeking genital enhancement. It says it has evidence of a number of websites promoting the use of silicone injections into scrotums and penises – unlicensed treatments performed by medically unqualified practitioners that can result in serious medical problems.Jim Horton certainly wishes he had heard this warning earlier. The 50-year-old aircraft engineeer underwent one such procedure in 2007. "I've always had quite a tight scrotum and heard through various online chat sites that I could get it made bigger," he says. "Everyone who'd had it done seemed to say they were really happy with the results, so I emailed the guy who I was told was carrying it out and arranged to see him. He sent me details of what would happen. It all seemed very professional and above-board." It was only when he arrived for his appointment that Jim began to worry. "I thought there'd be some kind of surgery inside – but it was nothing more than a normal house," he says. "The man I went to meet said he worked on North Sea oil rigs, but he seemed very calm and confident and he told me that he'd done this to more than 90 other men, as well as having had silicone injected into his own penis and scrotum. I trusted him and went upstairs." But after Jim had showered and was lying on the bed, waiting to be injected, things got worse. "I noticed the silicone was kept in an open milk bottle on the side – and this guy put the syringe full of the silicone into a regular sealant gun you'd buy from a DIY store. He said he needed to apply extra pressure as the fluid was so thick, but by now I was in his hands and went along with it." Over the next 30 minutes Jim had 60ml of silicone injected in each side of his scrotum. Afterwards, he got dressed and handed over £120. "I felt fine and my scrotum looked and felt better. I was happy with what I'd paid for," he says. However, by Christmas he noticed that the injected areas had started to harden and become misshapen. "I called the guy who did it, asking if this was normal, and he just said 'bad luck' and hung up on me. I suddenly felt so stupid and angry for having put myself in this position. I didn't know who to turn to." Over the next 18 months Jim's problems increased. "The pain was getting worse as the silicone hardened around my testicles, so when I stood up it felt like they were being yanked down with the weight. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't work and I felt like a freak." Finally, in February 2010, he met Marcus Drake, a consultant urologist at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, who tried to remove the silicone in an operation. "I was warned I could lose my testicles, but I was in so much pain, it seemed a risk worth taking," Jim says. Unfortunately the operation had to be stopped when the flesh on his scrotum lost its blood supply. "I spent the next three weeks at home with a district nurse coming round every day to dress the wound and keep it clean, but the smell of rotting flesh was simply horrendous," he says. Next, Drake performed a joint operation with Antonio Orlando, a cosmetic surgeon from nearby Frenchay Hospital, who took a skin graft from his leg to replace the skin on his scrotum. "I was told they still couldn't get the silicone out without risking cutting off vital blood supplies, but they could sort my scrotum out," he says. However after this operation, Jim says the skin tightened, leaving him in agony. "I was finally admitted as an emergency case when the pain became too much to handle and in April this year both Drake and Orlando removed 80% of the silicon, but within a week I was readmitted to hospital with an infection and was on a drip for four days. I've healed now and am feeling almost human for the first time in almost four years. I'm just so relieved to be able to walk and function again, but owe those surgeons and the NHS a huge amount for sorting out this stupid mess I created. I just want to expose this backstreet industry and stop other men going down the same route I did."

GoodKarma
'Awe...Poo!!!' Tiny snails survive digestion by birds -BBC Nature Snails migrate by getting eaten by birds and pooped out somewhere else For most of us, being devoured by something many times bigger than us would mean a gruesome, agonizing death. But for tiny snails, it's just a minor irritation...and a quick and disgustingly clever way to migrate elsewhere. This strange behavior occurs on the island of Hahajima, Japan, where birds known as Japanese white-eyes like to eat lots of tiny land snails. Researchers have discovered that 15% of the devoured snails end up living through the experience, and they suspect the surviving snails take advantage of the experience to take up residence on different parts of the island that they could never hope to reach without a ride inside a bird's gut. The surprising genetic diversity of snails on the island backs up this hypothesis. The Japanese white-eye or mejiro is widespread in Japan but considered an invasive species in Hawaii Researcher Shinichiro Wada explains: "We were surprised that a high rate, about 15 percent, of snails were still alive after passing through the gut of [the] birds. Biogeography of wingless terrestrial invertebrates, in particular snails, is often faced with mysterious long distance dispersal patterns that can only be explained by hand waving arguments involving birds' feet or guts or cyclones. This is the first study showing that birds can indeed transport a substantial [number of] micro land snails in their gut alive. One of the snails fed to the bird gave birth to juveniles just after passing through the gut." The only real trick to the snails' survival, according to the researchers, is their very small size. At just a tenth of an inch long, the snails can easily be swallowed whole by the birds. The researchers aren't sure whether the snails have any other adaptations that allow them to survive being eaten, but whatever they're doing to move around the island, it's working - albeit in just about the grossest way imaginable

CiaranM
from BBC news !!! California woman cuts off husband's penis Catherine Kieu Becker allegedly laced her husband's dinner with a drug A US woman drugged her estranged husband, tied him to a bed and cut off his penis, police in California say. The woman then threw the penis into the waste disposal and told police who attended the incident in Garden Grove, near Los Angeles: "He deserved it." Catherine Kieu Becker, 48, has been charged with poisoning and assault with a deadly weapon. The 51-year-old victim, who has not been named, is in a serious condition following surgery. Lt Jeff Nightengale, of Garden Grove police, said the two are going through a divorce. He said the woman had drugged the man's dinner on Monday night. "He believed something was wrong with his food," he said. "The victim went to lie down and he woke up tied to the bed with his wife tugging his clothes off. "The female cut off his penis with a knife... tossed the penis in the garbage disposal and turned the disposal to the 'on' position. "The suspect called 911 and told responding officers that he 'deserved it'." He added: "Officers arrived and located a male victim tied to the bed and bleeding from his groin area." Ms Becker was arrested on suspicion of aggravated mayhem, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, administering a drug with intent to commit a felony, poisoning and spousal abuse. She is due to appear in court on Wednesday.

CiaranM
hmmmm .... Guess there will be fewer visits to Germany in the future !!!! Germany impounds Thai Prince Vajiralongkorn's jet German administrators have impounded a jet used by Thailand's Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn, in a dispute over an unpaid debt from 20 years ago. The administrators say Thailand's government has refused to pay a bill of more than 30m euros (£26m; $43m) to a now-defunct German construction firm. The Boeing 737 was seized by court order, and will remain grounded, said a spokesman for Munich airport. Thailand's Foreign Ministry said the seizure was "highly inappropriate". "The Thai authorities have expressed to the German government its great concern over the incident and have requested it to resolve the problem as soon as possible," ministry spokesman Thani Thongphakdi told Reuters news agency. But Walter Schneider, the administrator for the now-bankrupt construction firm, said the "drastic measure" was "virtually the last resort". "The Thai government always stalled and did not respond to our demands," he said. The German firm was part of a consortium that helped to build a toll road between Bangkok and Don Muang airport. The Thais claim a court decision is still pending on the debt, but the German administrators say the matter has already been decided.

Nothing new there mate. Ivory Wave has been marketed here as 'bath salts' for years (just as mephedrone was marketed as 'plant food') Here's some blurb; Ivory Wave is the ‘brand’ name of a product currently being sold as a ‘legal high’. Active ingredients found in Ivory Wave have previously been MDPV (methylenedioxypyrovalerone) and mephedrone, both of which are stimulants that are now controlled drugs. More recent limited testing has found 2-DPMP (desoxypipradrol) as a common psychoactive constituent of Ivory Wave products. 2-DPMP is an amphetamine-type stimulant related to Ritalin (which itself is controlled). Although we can’t say for sure what is in any particular product sold as Ivory Wave, we do know that the effects reported recently are those of a strong stimulant – with similar effects to amphetamines (speed) and MDMA (ecstasy) – such as feelings of euphoria, alertness, talkativeness and feelings of empathy. However recent self-reports suggest risks with ‘Ivory Wave’ that typically include prolonged agitation (lasting up to 5 days after drug use which is sometimes severe, requiring physical restraint), paranoia, hallucinations and muscle spasms. These types of substances have also been associated with risk of over-stimulating the heart and circulation, of over-stimulating the nervous system (and possibly causing fits), and of dangerous overheating of the body. Slang: Other products associated with Ivory Wave, and which might include the same ingredients are Ivory Coast, Purple Wave and Vanilla Sky. admin
German court rejects pleaJudge not convinced about government's plane ownership argument; RTAF submits documents to argue the case A German court yesterday declined a Thai government request for an injunction to release a Thai-owned plane impounded at Germany's Munich airport early last week. Judge Christoph Fellner said the court was not fully convinced the plane was HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn's personal property as asserted by the lawyer for Thailand. The court is to sit again on the case this week. The Royal Thai Air Force yesterday confirmed the Thai government's contention that the RTAF in 2007 presented the Boeing 737 jet to the Prince for his personal use, RTAF spokesman Air Vice Marshal Monthon Satchukorn said. "The RTAF asserts that the plane in question does not belong to the government because it was presented for royal use. There is an official document to prove the presentation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked for that document to be presented to the German authorities and the RTAF has supplied that document," the spokesman said. The plane has been grounded by a writ in a long-running business dispute between the German building company Walter Bau AG and the Thai government. Caretaker Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva yesterday said he had instructed relevant authorities to find out whether the documents submitted by Walter Bau AG in opposing the Thai petition was up-to-date. "I instructed the Aviation Department director-general to verify the objection documents of the German company as I understand that they may use non-updated versions from websites saying the plane is under the supervision of the Royal Thai Air Force," Abhisit said. He also said that the German government expressed regrets about the case and facilitated the work of Thai officials. "Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya is now in Germany to coordinate the issue. Thailand will do its best to protect the prestige and reputation of the country," the acting prime minister said. Kasit met German foreign under-secretary Cornelia Pieper in Berlin to discuss the matter, Germany's foreign ministry spokesman Martin Schaefer told reporters yesterday. Pieper expressed regret over "the inconvenience caused to the crown prince by this seizure" but she reiterated German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle's position that the matter was in the hands of the German courts. Before the Thai minister's arrival, however, the spokesman said the government could not comment on the affair "because we respect the independence of the judicial authorities" handling the case. Kasit, speaking in Bangkok, said Thailand wanted "the German court to act on our request to revoke the seizure immediately". He added that the plane belonged to the Crown Prince, not the government. "If this takes too long, it might affect the feelings of Thai people towards German people and the country because this is related to the monarchy," he warned. Werner Schneider, the insolvency administrator of Walter Bau, yesterday called the court decision not to issue an injunction a victory. Schneider said his objective was to force the Thai government to pay out a settlement, as ordered by arbitrators. He had urged Bangkok to offer a cash bond in place of the jet, but this was refused. "This attitude surprised us, because we were willing to cut a deal," he said. In the 1990s, Walter Bau was part of a joint venture to construct the Don Muang Tollway. A row erupted over the tolls to be levied, as a result of which the German construction company said contractual obligations were not being met. After years of negotiations, an international tribunal in Geneva awarded Walter Bau US$42 million (Bt1.26 billion) in compensation, an award the Thai government rejected. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/home/German-court-rejects-plea-30160443.html
