I would not want my child to hear propaganda from whoever president without me knowing what will be said.Obviosuly this is beeing ignored and instrumentalized as a left right issue. This presidents approval rating has plunged faster then any others in history. And theres reason for that, he is nothing but a slick talker. Taxes are beeing raised on the middle class, wars are expanding, torture and secret detention are beeing expanded. Guantanamo not closed. Economy getting and unemployment getting worse and worse. Lobbyists are beeing hired etc So why would you trust this guy to tell the right things to your children? And now he wants to tell my children whats good and what not without me even knowing what will be said? If iam a american parent i will take my kid out of school and protect it from the governement. This is not a left right issue. Stop buying into this republican vs democrats puppet show. Its like watching wwe. They had nothing to say when Reagan and Bush did the same thing, its pure BS ! I think you'll find that while Bush was doing it a load of Arabs flew some planes into some buildings........ they didn't do that while Obama was talking to the kids so thats a bonus to start! You sit your kid infront of the TV every day, I doubt what Obama says is any worse then the sh*t the pump into the poor kids head on there! No, I dont. I dont think any parent should let their kids watch TV without researching what the TV show is about and without talking to the kid what it is watching. The problem with this speech is that the president has seemingly more authority then any TV speech. @ eagle However, the speech is to be accompanied by lesson plans issued by the Department of Education which instruct teachers to ask children ?Why is it important that we listen to the President and other elected officials.?The children are also asked to consider, ?What is the President trying to tell me?,? ?What is the President asking me to do?,? and ?What new ideas and actions is the President challenging me to think about?? Children were also asked to write letters about what they can do to help the President, but this section has since been amended following an outcry. Activities suggested for after Obama?s speech include asking students ?What resonated with you from President Obama?s speech? What lines/phrase do you remember?? Every parent has the right to be concerened about this without beeing labeled a rightwing extremist republican racist or whatever! *some* truth in the claim, but here's some perspective, involving ACTUAL DATA, just in case there's anyone left on Earth besides me who finds this kind of talking points bullshit vulgar and manipulative. Well if you think so why do post this link? Obamas approval rating is now at 50% and it continues to drop so that link is pretty much worthless. Anyway youre right, it doesnt really matter.
