Pretending to be a Thai.

If you foreigners can read Thai numbers, you will know that there are foreigner price and Thai price officially anywhere in this country. they write on sign board "Massage 1 hour 200 baht" just above "ñôðºÒ·" (140baht) I visited several sites in Chiang Mai and found such distinction. So, I pretended to be like a Thai and try to get the local price. Success rate is 90% so far. (not bad, isn't it?) I analyse the factor for those successful case as below. 1. My face has typical JPs feature

One thing good for blood donation is that you can check HIV test free. There was nothing mentioned about HIV on my result, that mean I'm negative in HIV. Yikes!! How about in other countires? Do the Red Cross do the same service like this?

Thai restaurant in JP

I went to the restaurant I mentioned here before. It was not bad, but not excellent. The taste is arrenged too much for JPs. (mai phed luey!) The staff were all Japanese or a girl from Myanmar. (!) I prefer to go for local food wagon on back street in bkk. The only restaurant I know with good taste and reasonal price is Geujai in Shijuku station. The lunch menu is 700 -900 yen. (250-320 baht for curry or kwaityao and dessert) All the cooking and serving staff are Thai. Anyone know good one

According to the "headlines in Thailand" on this website, Thailand launched Tsunami Warning System. I still remember when I spend my Christmas holidays in Thailand, and tried to book flight and hotel in Phuket but couldn't. So, I changed my plan to visit Chiangmai, then that unlucky incident ensured me from the historical disaster. In Japan, we experience earthquake as daily event...ooops, I should say monthly. Each time it happens, TV, radio report immediately the scale of the earthquake as w

"Tom Yam Goong"

I went to Shinjuku to join "Tokyo Fantastic Movie Festival". The opeing movie was "Tom Yam Goong". In the opening ceremony, Minister of Thai Embassy in Tokyo came and delivered opening remarks. The movie itself was so exciting movie and I'm sure all the audience enjoyed it. Actually, nobody left the theater after the very end of the ending role. (Thai people never watch it, right?) and the theater was full of aplausing!!! I'm not a Thai, but i feel very proud of Thai culture and spirit
