wanwadee . . . Are you calling my doctor a liar?? He said as you said . . penicillen is anti inflamatory . . but it actually helps to make the infection worse. I appreciate your imput but I'll go with my doctor on this one.

assuming your doctor is not a quack--which is not impossible, but probably not the case---most likely either you had a miscommunication with your doctor, or you got the wrong stuff and it wasn't penicillin.

it is common and wide knowledge that penicillin is NOT an anti-inflammatory, it is an ANTIBIOITC.

i haven't googled it but you should. in fact everyone should google every medicine they take, whether they doctor themselves or the doctor gives them.

doctoring oneself with antibiotics is dangerous for exactly the reason wanwadee said: if you get anything wrong--diagnosis, dosage, etc... you're making yourself a little evolution lab and building bacteria that are resistant to that antibiotic.

Yes Zeus . . . I believe wanwadee is right. If the Thai people call penicillin "Ya Gae Uk Sabe" and "Ya Gae Uk Sabe" is a steroid . . . then I am sure that's what my doctor meant. This makes what stegee said very important . . . "never take anything that isn't prescibed".

Broncial infection, you need anti-biotics to get rid of it.............and cut the smoking for a while until it's gone..........get well soon........

Can get a Sulphur based a antibiotic such as Septrin Forte.For infections that don't react well to Penicillin.

penicillen is a steroid ?????? WTF,wanwadee is perfectly correct, what you will find is 1. The bacterian you have isnt sensitive to Penicillian or 2, you dont have a bacterial infection but a virus, and all antibiotics have no effect on viruses. Hmmm , Roxithromycin is the antibiotic of choice for Upper respiratory tract infections: acute pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis.

Lower respiratory tract infections: acute bronchitis, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, community acquired pneumonia.
