I have 2 guitars, the first one cost USD 18. the reason i bought cheap guitar because I wanted to know if I really like to play guitar so this one is just for trial. And the second is USD 80. I wanted to give the first one to orphan house because the sound of the guitar really hurt my ears. I still want to keep the second one, but the guitar?s body is too big. I heard someone said? look at your guitar?s body is bigger than yours? and they laugh at me

Yesterday I went to The Emporium for my new toyboy at the musical department.

I look around those guitars. There are 2 guitars that I like but the neck of guitars are too big for my hand grip. So I ask the sale person and told him my problem that the one I have is too big.

Saleman: May I recommend this guitar Madam.

Me: but this guitar is for kid (it is kid's guitar)

Saleman: but the sound of this guitar is ok Madam

Me: I want this one but the neck of guitar is too big for my hand

Saleman: that guitar is for Farang music (he doesn?t ask Thai or Farang music that I practicing, sign)

Those guitars that I like cost 16K and 22K I don?t? mind about price. I can?t afford many things but the guitar is the happiness that I can buy so??

He insisted me to buy a kid?s guitar but I don?t want to. I would like to ask if anyone know where the place that sale guitars I mean big store which location near BTS lines. Don?t tell me JJ market because I will not go there again, it?s too crowded and I got lost most of the time.

Thanks Krap :D :D

There are a couple of guitar stores in Central World Plaza. They seem to have everything from average guitars to the more expensive ones. Yamaha makes a couple of slim-body acoustic guitars that you might find comfortable--model APXT-1, I think. Both models have slim necks, but can be strung with nylon (classical) strings if you prefer.

I know what you mean about the neck of the guitar being too big for your hand. The necks of traditonal classical/Spanish guitars are too big for mine.

this one seems more in electric guitars but probably a phone call will help you:

Heard someone say that there is a whole bunch of guitar shops in Bangkok at the top end of Khlong Lawt, on Th Atsadang, just south of Khao Sarn Road, but never watched for guitars. Somebody on the net wrote that there is a very good (and big) guitar shop close to Pantip Plaza on Chaophraya road. Right across the street from the indonesian embassy.

Martin make some slightly smaller "adult" guitars. I've never heard of any difference between guitars for Thai or "farang" music.. sounds like the guy was an idiot. Martin guitars are awesome (and expensive), although some people think the sound is too thin. It's up to what you like, try many before you decide.

Buying cheap guitars is a sure way to get tired of playing! The better the guitar is, the more you want to practice. So you are right about being picky there Soda :-)

Do what I do.

Take your tennis racket out of the wardrobe.

Put on an old Van Halen CD.

Make a face in the mirror like you have just sucked on a lemon while strumming the racket strings

Hey presto you will feel elated and save yourself a fortune!
