Just posted this on the Book Club page .....

Just finished Martin Amis's newest book "the pregnant widow" now i usually enjoy his books, but this one was a big let down.

Boring, pretentious and (IMO) just not very good. It was a struggle to actually finish it !!!

What books have u been disappointed in recently ??

Now after meeting Dave last night and exchanging a few books thought i might make one last effort to start (restart) a TF book club. basically the idea is we meet up once every 4 or 6 weeks select a book(s) ... read it .... then come back and discuss it at the next meeting.

anyone interested or should i just give it up as a lost cause !!!

To people in my FB friends list. I DIDNT join Ciaran and Dave books exchanging last night. I posted about my 'new book to read' on my wall last night was just coincidence.

P'Nicky - I would love to see you there ^^ . Well this reminds me the old time with literature class that we had to read and discuss the meaning of it haha. I can remember the Greek myth such as Andromeda or Troy.

ya. the Greek myth was my favorite subject at CMU. I loved Andromeda and even at one point I wanted to change my real name to Andromeda but my dad said we're not Greek, get over it!!! ;D

P'Nicky - Hahaha Andromeda is a lovely name and all English Major CMU will always remember this name. I like Greek myth as well as I think Greek god and goddess represent the human being passion very well.

I think it's difficult to get a book club together - people have different tastes, read at different speeds and have busy schedules.

However a book exchange might be easier to organise. Periodically meeting at a venue, everyone brings their unwanted books and swaps them.

Cheers
