LakeGeneve
very good buy if confirmed ... 6'6" german international centre half .... just what the doctor ordered, but why was he not signed 2 or 3 weeks ago !!!still think we need at least 2 or 3 more signings .... bit light in midfield after losing fabregas, nasri and (not so much) denilson !! Agree, would have liked to have seen a big name signing for midfield and a new back up goalie also but perhaps in Jan? Finally good to see the cash being spent even if seemingly under duress. Not sure how the team balance will go but the defence looks better.
LakeGeneve
First 3 games of the season I wouldn't worry that much yet, be night if the Gooners could pick up a couple of tough defenders/midfielders.... should have taken Joey Barton on a free! Glad we didn't take Barton, he would disrupt the team too much which would outweigh the benefits.

Finally good to see the cash being spent even if seemingly under duress. Not sure how the team balance will go but the defence looks better. i don't think it was spent so much under duress as NOT being available until the Fabregas and Nasri deals were complete. however, we spent (according to press reports) somewhere between 20 to 30 million less than we brought in on transfer dealings !! that's not going to be good enough when u see the sums splashed out by Man C, Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool !! we r the only big club showing a ******* profit on ur transfer dealings for the last 5 or 6 seasons !!! strangely enough that coincides with our tropheyless run !!! Watching a repeat of last night's game here in Brunei right now - Rooney just scored his second...... Early days yet but (barring future injuries and/or suspensions) so far MU look like they will be hard to beat this season. Consummate performance against Bolton, looking forward to more of the same! Stramash
Arsenal CRUSH the mighty Swansea with a whopping 1-0 victory!!!And people say there are no giant-killers anymore. Was a very poor performance (again!). Mertesacker needs to work on his speed; looked slower than a drunk camel yesterday. Some good creative moves but not on a par with previous squads and defensively still very very vulnerable. We need Vermaelen back soon and we need more signings in January. MU looked very good yesterday (gag, gag, cough). Chelsea were also sublime (gag, gag, cough). Think it 3 way this year with MU, Citeh and Chelski. Liverpool for 4th. For us? A long frustrating season...

Stramash
I was waiting for a tube this morning when the announcement came, 'mind the gap'; it was repeated a few times. I found this strange as there was no train coming. Then I turned round and saw the Arsenal back four on the platform.
Stramash
Tuesday 20 September 2011 Arsenal’s Wenger claims not to have seen vote of confidence Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told reporters this afternoon that he has no comment to make after insisting he did not see the vote of confidence he was given by chief executive Ivan Gazidis. Gazidis spoke slightly out of Wenger’s eye-line at the Sport Industry breakfast club to reassure fans that their long-time manager’s position was safe. Wenger responded to the news by telling reporters that, “from my position I could not see the incident clearly, so it is best I do not comment.” When reporters attempted to replay the interview for him Wenger closed his eyes and put his fingers in his ears before yelling, “Nah nah nah nah, I definitely cannot see that thing that you’re talking about!” Wenger vote of confidence Arsenal fans have responded to the news with mixed emotions, with one season ticket holder telling us, “If he says he didn’t see it, then I believe him.” “It’s surprisingly easy to miss stuff that the media endlessly repeat on the news.” “I haven’t seen the goals from Old Trafford, for example.” Another told us, “I’m not sure what sort of impaired vision he suffers from, but if there’s any way of developing it in time for our next away game I’d be very grateful.”
