I still remember when i was in a college, one of my friends brought this DVD in my class and said "you gotta watch this movie!".

When i first saw the cover on the DVD box i didn't think i could watch it. Also back then some people thought it was real.

Last week i went to a DVD shop at Siam Paragon. I found this movie and i bought it. I searched on imdb about it and read some reviews, some were good and some were giving warning not to watch this movie. As i read more and more warnings it made me more curious to see it.

Has anyone ever seen it before? Any advice, warning or comment about this movie so i can be prepared? :P

Cannibal Holocaust was the further inspiration for the the horror fictional documentary Blair Witch Project, filmed twenty years later.

Three years ago, I interviewed Ruggero Deodato, the director of Cannibal Holocaust. He was a true gentleman with a good sense of humour.

He could be seen in Eli Roth's Hostel 2, produced by Quentin Tarantino (released in June).

Following this movie, Ruggero Deodato should make a sequel to Cannibal Holocaust.

You can pick up a copy of Cannibal Holocaust for 99 Baht. Its quite easy to see why people thought it was a snuff movie when it came out and the turtle scene looks very very real...they obviously dont have a clue what they are doing...

"Seven animals (a coatimundi, a turtle, a spider, a snake, two squirrel monkeys, and a pig) were actually killed for the camera. The monkey scene had to be filmed twice, so even though only one is seen dying, two were killed."

It's part of a whole series? Awesome.

Cobrakai did you ever watch the Dali movie with the eyeball (still in the person's head) being sliced open with a straight razor?

if you do decide to watch 'un chien andalou' get the boxed set that includes the pixies song.

This is one film that I went to see that caused me nightmares for many months afterwards. I was quite unaware at the time that it was a "spoof".

To me, at that time (around 1980 or so, in Mallorca, Spain where I watched the film) it seemed totally authentic.

I didn't know that it was "spoof" but neither did I know also that there had been great cruelty to animals in the making of it (anyone dispute this?).

Avoid!

Seems like it's gonna be quite a horrified bloody movie.

I'd probably add it to NOT TO SEE MOVIE LIST .

I have that movie at my house, although i didn't buy it. maybe the ghosts are not pleased with the wilted flowers in my ghost house.

But this movie is very old, and overall is not a great film. I expected a movie with a title like this to be really gory, but it was not... and the 70's cheeseball acting (especially by the women leads) is hilarious.

It is worth a watch for the humor value. And yeah, if you can stomach SAW, you will have no problem with this one. I would be interested in seeing the remake ,as gore flicks seem to be making a comeback lately.
