Time

It is one of the most precious things we all have. Yet, we take it for granted. There was a time in my life, when I felt I had so much TIME. I wished then, TIME would go faster, But yet, it felt slower!! Now, all I want is more TIME. Today, I woke up and saw on my calendar its the 1st of June, Almost half a year gone. Yet, I felt like it was only last week, That I celebrated the New Year, WHERE DID ALL MY TIME GO? I want it all back. Do you get a nagging feeling you are running out o

Drama, Drama, Drama

The more life experiences I gained, the more I learn about myself and of other people. And the more I realised significance (the feeling of importance) plays a huge part in our decision making. About a year ago, the shopping centre, where my business is situated, was sued by one of our previous corporate managers. The corporate manager we had then (now ex) kept telling us that the law suit had no merits we would win for sure. So we appointed the lawyers he recommended and left it to his cont

Advice sought

Does anyone know whether one could sign up on a temporary (a week or two) wireless contract in Bangkok? If so, which company offers this service? Furthermore, what has been your experience about its service - I mean does it break down a lot? Thanks for any advice.

Two websites confirmed today that ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra is due back in Thailand on Thursday at 9:00am. The message on the sites, including Hi-Thaksin.net and TrueThaksin.com, urged supporters of the ousted prime minister to greet him at Suvarnabhumi airport. There has been no confirmation on Mr Thaksin's behalf of the exact time and date of his expected return although it is believed he will confirm the website reports by his followers today. Mr Thaksin is currently believed to be in

How to Steal Billlions

Societe Generale Uncovers Massive Fraud by Futures Trader PARIS (AP) -- Societe Generale uncovered a $7.14 billion fraud -- one of history's biggest -- by a single futures trader who orchestrated a series of bogus transactions that spiraled out of control amid roiling markets this week, the French bank said Thursday. Coffee cuts skin cancer risk

DRINKING coffee can cut the risk of skin cancer by more than a third, scientists say.  Researchers found that people who drank more than six cups of caffeinated coffee a day reduced their chances of developing skin cancer by 35 per cent, while those who drank two or three cups were 12 per cent less likely to have the disease.OMG - six cups a day - I wonder if they hold shares in coffee companies.  Scientists believe caffeine could stop skin cancers spreading by stopping cells dividing, or by act

Having a Job versus having a Business

I have reached a crossroad in both my professional and personal life. The challenges emanating from my business can be quite overwhelming. At times like these, I have had to step back and wondered whether I am up to it – that is, solve problems for my clients - after all that is what I am being paid to do.Initially, I was driven to start my own business because I was frustrated as an employee – essentially being denied my partnership, which I believed I had earned; by being the best, exceeding bi

Blind Dates

I am at an age where my family and friends feel that I should be married and start a family. When I visit my parents on the weekends, I am constantly getting hints from them about how they would love to have grand-kids running around. So as a result, I am constantly being set up with blind dates by my own family members.Whilst I have no problems with my friends setting me up with blind dates, I do have problems with my family members trying to set me up with blind dates - in fact, I have consiste

World Recession?

If you have been following the stock markets around the world in the last 3 weeks, you would have noticed that it's been gyrating up and down (mostly down). This is because of the subprime mortgage crisis emanating from the United States - where financial institutions lend monies to borrowers with bad credit histories (basically borrowers with a high default rate), the loans are then repackaged as bonds and then sold to investors and banks from around the world.  The bad debts from the subprime m

U S Markets

Is anyone following the US markets at the moment?Wholly cow (or bear I should say), the Dow is currently down 300 points.  And it is the second time this week that it has fallen over 200 points. The Nasdaq and the S&P 500 is also down 2 plus % so far today.Oh boy, lets hope it does not cause a financial meltdown worldwide tomorrow - like the Asian Financial Meltdown 10 years ago...........And at this very moment, the US dollar is in a steep dive - the chart looks as if it has fallen over a cl

Finally some honesty about the Iraq War

We have heard so much B/S about why we in the West (US, UK and AUST) had to go to War against Iraq. The reasons ranged from WMD to Saddam to links to terrrorists and training camps for terrorist groups.  Of course, when critics against the War suggested it had more to do with Oil, there was always vehement denials from these leaders (Bush, Blair and Howard).Well, after 4 years, the Prime Minister of Australia John Howard has let the cat out of the bag. I wonder what the world will think of us now

Will the Middle East accept this?

US in Iraq for 'another 50 years' THE US Defence Secretary suggested for the first time yesterday that American forces could be in Iraq for at least another half century, under an arrangement similar to the effectively permanent US troop deployment in South Korea. In comments that will dismay war opponents at home and alarm Muslim allies in the Middle East, Robert Gates said that "some force of Americans" will be in Iraq for a "protracted period of time" and pointed to South Korea as the model
