I have some republican friends and I am amazed they are but then they are not Karl Rove fans and I respect their opinions as I respect Rob as I have known him as a sensible person on TF. The republican as fiscal conservative seems replaced by the religious fanatics they rallied to support them and to their detriment. Ron Paul is a republican but more like their version of Ralph Nadar. I think in the long run the Religious right and the Karl Rove lie techniques have seriously hurt the party. A bit of a contradiction wouldn't you way. I react to something and you accuse me of being thin skinned. You react in much the same manner to my very much similar provocations and you have thick skin.

Much like the thread about Long Distance Relationships. P'MArc wasn't taking a shot directly at me. But he was basically telling Unny (Thai girl) that she was an idiot for entertaining the idea of a relationship with someone who was not in physical proximity. Basically, he was insulting my relationship and someone for whom I care and every other relationship and every Thai girl who is involved in one.

I guess in his mind that's ok. Later in that thread, that I can only assume is sanctioned by the moderators. Others spewed forth the belief that the only reason that one would be in such a relationship is money/Gold.

The whole damn thread was insulting.

Then why bother? Why waste your time and energy discussing political issues thus engaging in constant spats (my word) with people. And then feeling that you have to defend yourself against what you view as personal attacks on you.
