scotne1
Obama wins do you think that Thailand will give me political asylum, from oppressive government?Being single my tax rate will double. It looks like the only thing we will be able to write off is more freedom. If Obama wins I am makeing the move to Thailand at the end of july. Believe halve of what you see and nothing you hear. Politics is all a bunch of BS and listening to TV adds and debates is a sure fire way to think you know a heck of a lot more than you actualy do. Its all disimformation and you can draw no conclusions from it. It really sounds to me you bought into what one of the two sales forces rotting your brain with their lies and garbage has been telling you. Too bad your tax rate will double, mabey they can figure out how to make you more money in the future with the taxes they collect. Mabey they will just steal it and use it to help thier own bussiness deals, who knows... My point is that you cant win, no matter who you vote for they are both criminals, and only time will tell you which one was a good president or not. DANNO
If I read this thread right... :!: 1) Beej honored his committment and served his time as John McCain :thumbleft: ( Chris what were you smoking? What a bad bad bet sir...) While :?:2) Brain on the other hand dis-honored his committment; has not witnessed the $50000 tax bracket double ( in fact it was reduced ) did not move to Thailand for the Obama Presidency :x But in fact took stole away it looks like the lovely " Middle T"; (a married man - and one should hope and wish only the best for the two of them) --- along with a cable subscription that allows him only access to MSNBC and never to FOXNEWS --- so objectivity and balence may return to his system - a requirement and reward for the blessing of so lovely a bride
Boog
This guy Brian would be very funny if there was not millions like him... 7. Would pull troops out of Iraq immediately - McCain: No Obama: Yes (bringing the terrorists to us) this war is the biggest lie of the last 10 years, i've never understood how people can believe this war has something to do with terrorism, how a majority of americans truly believe in this (or at least have believed) power of medias, people's credulty? Completely agree with you. Though I'm sure you do understand why Americans think it has to do with terrorism. It's been shoved down our throats since 9/11 by the media. Granted, it probably has cut down on the amount of attacks within the US that succeed. However, that's about as effective as firing one corrupt traffic cop to show that we're tough on corruption. The surface has barely been scratched for a long term solution.
English_Bob
I was very pleased when Obama was elected president of the USA. For far too long black people have been downtrodden and prevented from achieving their full potential. The white powers-that-be are clueless about black culture. And the fact that the world's best golfer should decide to enter politics should be a sign that times have changed. I don't see that it matters that he is addicted to having sex with interns and smoking cigars... as long as he can continue to run the country, win The US Open and write albums like Thriller. I've even forgiven him for killing his wife.

I would simply add that: Americans were scocked into an awareness that they too were vunerable to the madness of terror. I deagree slightly with the weight of the blame Rob...the media was culpable for running along the primrose-path with the Bushys. But that path was cut by the Bush administration...primed and delievered by Congress, who did not have the balls to stand up and ask if the dots connected .....9/11...Sadam...WMD...hell there was less resistance to this decision than during the debate of the First Gulf War in 1990! Boog -fear can allow that for the people ---leaders must be the ones informedand reasonable--- they give the orders that end lives on both sides. George W is right ----years--- from now--- history will judge and now it looks like a little boy trying to impress his Daddy.

I understand the trauma and the government propaganda relayed by the media but it lasted for years. Seen from Europe or at least from my point of view it looked so strange that almost nobody in America asked questions on the reasons of this war, involving so many human lives and so much money. Iin regrads to "almost nobody" -- With respect ---This does not describe what accurately took place... The time line for the invasion was around nine months and well promoted through the gov't as well as the news outlets... once the military went in ...as Colin Powell warned ( he was Sec. of State at the time)... "if you break it, you own it." ...and without a doubt we were and are reasponible for putting that country back togeather ...of course the Admin at the time fumbled that completely for years... maybe now Iraq has a good chance to conduct its own affairs. True, there was an initial buy-in by the majority of the public -- some with doubts figured Hussain had it coming -- but again, this action was not univerally supported --- again once the country was torn apart...it has to be put back togeather to some degree...
