Inspiring by the tragic shut down of suvarnabhumi airport...

and feeling a " bit " nostalgia to the classic endless TF forums about " what is your favorite ..."...please be kind to tell us what is your favorite airport , In all your travels, originating, connecting and ending, which one is your favorite and why?

My favorite airport is HK... It's a great design.. always interesting people watching! And the business class lounge for Cathay Pacific has great dimsum!!!

My least favorite is Bangalore! That place is a pile!!

I love airports though...

I like Changi, can watch a movie, have a swim, a spa. Lots of wireless options, decent last minute shopping.

But the reason i rank it number 1 is the fact you can have a beer outside in a beer garden :-)

I have always liked the Pan Am Terminal at JFK for its art deco white tubular entrance, which takes a few minutes to walk through as it winds down and to the side and it feels like you are a tiny Who walking into Hortons ear.... but after that it is just like any other airport.

Definately HK, (I do miss the old airport fly in). Great open design, efficient systems and great transport with the Airport line.

Chiangi is a close 2nd esp with the diverse shopping, TV & movies lounges and the new T3 looks great but they need to bring the planned airport line forward as the current option is too slow (if very cheap!).

The old terminal 1 design at CDG still inspires of another time in travel. Helsinki is cozy and functional and I have fond memories of it for some reason. Rio is not much to speak of as an airport but you can't beat the amazing scenic flight .

Least favourite without a doubt is Heathrow  with the total chaos, lack of intergration between terminals and inevitable flight delays. The new T5 though does look fairly good.

I like Dubai for a layover - plenty to see and do and beautifully presented.

I like Suvarnabhumi for arrivals because it feels like I'm coming home.

And I HATE with a vengeance Istanbul airport for being dirty, chaotic, slow and corrupt. I once got a machine gun pointed at me by an airport official asking for a bribe!

(closest I ever came to REALLY filling my pants!)

Your back!

Have you been stuck in one of the toilets at the airport the last week or did you decide to indulge in the First Class Lounge with a close friend?

Glad someone noticed my absence... Actually I went to Pai in Northern Thailand. I'm just uploading photos onto Photobucket for a journal - expect to see it in about a month!

PAD closed the airport? Thank f#ck for that - some guy I really don't like had to cancel his Bangkok trip - yeah!
