Theshadow
t was a horrible tragedy and of course i don't envy you being there but, conspiracy theories are insensitive and well out of line with events such as this Since he was there and almost died I can see why he has been spending so much time going over the fire so I wouldn't be judging him. Granted, but, I would think the people that were actually there would be the last people to look at conspiracies and the first people to actually look at how things can be improved in other venues so that something like this doesnt happen again. Still i guess until i'm in a situation like that (and touch wood i never am) i wouldn't know how i would react. It wasnt intended as a conspiracy theory actually. I just thought it a very interesting coincidence considering what transpired.

I apologise then however some people have used those points to shout conspiracy very soon after the event. Anyway it must have been a frightening ordeal for you. I can't even begin to imagine. Sathorn
Very moving story but the last part of it is irrelevant so why point it out? It was a horrible tragedy and of course i don't envy you being there but, conspiracy theories are insensitive and well out of line with events such as this The fact it was called 'goodbye santika' was unfortunate, nothing else. Burn were the house band....they didn't just play that night and one (yes one) small fire .gif on the website doesn't constitute it being 'full of flames'. I appreciate you providing your first hand experience, i really do, i saw your story reported in the UK news and you are extremely lucky to still be with us but i'm not sure the relatives of those that were "set on fire and began screaming" are comforted by the fact they met a 'quick' end. Some things are best kept to ones self. Edit - Sorry had a few drinks last night and while i wont delete anything i apologise if what i have written comes across a bit strong but I feel quite strongly about people putting conspiracy theories on tragic events (i was the same with 911). I was amazed to see that part as well, not only you... Who gives a flying f*ck about what you think. Alex wrote an honest and sobering account of his brush with death and I assure you the website had a lot more than one .gif with flames in it. He didn't speculate on the meaning, he just raised some questions. Maybe he is entitled to.

But it has absolutely no relevance to what happened so why bring it up (again). Maybe I am entitled to have an opinion on the questions he is entitled to raise. Loburt
I find it astounding that not one, but two people, would criticize The Shadow over what he wrote. The coincidence he pointed out has been written about many times, both here and in the news media. For someone who has never been in that kind of life-threatening, near-death tragic experience to be lecturing someone who has on what what they should or should not be thinking or writing about it, is incredibly insensitive. As the person who started this nastiness wrote: "some things are better kept to oneself." Truly one of the low points in the bleak history of TF. The Shadow himself confirmed that he was not making any such claims. *not* the time to jump to conclusions. thanks to the Shadow for the detailed first person account of what happened. grezzzy_greer
Yes we all have a right to our opinions, and to be honest, after reading Alexs account of that horrifying and tragic nights events, and seeing the note from Trborz, I actually don't see anything nasty - just an expression of opinion. Naturally Danny is correct to make his statement based on the TF "house rules" - but I also don't think it was anyones intention to belittle or criticise Alex for what he said - maybe slightly unintentionally it looked like that - but on reading the comments again - and bearing in mind that we cannot hear the "tone of voice" in which they were made - I for one believe that no insult or flaming was intended. Alex - I hope you will eventually be able to put this dreadful experience behind you - it was almost unbelievable that you got out, and I think we are all that much better off that you survived, although I don't know you personally, I am very glad that you got out, and wish that everyone had been so lucky - tragically of course that is not the case. Thanks, this is exactly right. As Loburt pointed out those coincidences have been elaborated on many times over by people and the press so i was a little sad to see it tagged on to the end of what otherwise was a very sombre and moving account of Alex's experience. I think the last sentence would have been a perfect and poignant line to sign off his account of that night. I went back and re-read my comments the day after when i had a clearer mind and as i'm not one to go back and cover my tracks by deleting it, i added the edit, which proves that i thought maybe i was a little out of line. You can see that Alex and i cleared up any misunderstanding so i don't know why other people feel the need to get involved afterwards. Anyway i hope Alex has made a full recovery from his injuries, which he seems to have done.
