marco_funny
whoever said Money is dirty is right, at least from a biological point of view, Back Notes carries thousands of viruses and bacteria born diseases, the smallest domination being the most dirtiest, a 20 Baht Bill for example is more dirty then the surface of a public toilet seat i decided to try the experience and analyze a couple of notes, surprise and surprise, what we found on 20 Baht Note is really amazing and disgusting   (dangerous STD Bacteria, a lot of urine traces, Flu Virus, itchy skin bacteria, and even semen and Cocaine traces) some notes contains as much as 5 types of flu virus the virus is able to survive up to 3 hours on the paper surface  the cleanest bills are those delivered freshly from the ATM Machine, apparently the ATM machine expose some heat which kills some germs, coins carries much less germs then paper note since it s harder for the germs to survive on metal surfaces, the most dangerous and dirty bills are those changes that you get from a busy food street vendor or waiter in night entertainment venue. you may think about money just like a paper tissue being used and used over again by hundreds if not thousands of people

Enchanted
As much as we know about how dirty bank notes & coins carry germs & bacteria, thanks for in dept information. I hardly have much cash in my pocket, anything beyond 500 bt I swipe CC, paying rent & utilities by transferring money, transferring money from my payroll bank account to my savings account, at the end of the month CC provider draws money from my savings account. I gotta love how money electronically moves from one place to another without physically touching our hands. In the end we only see figure in pieces of paper or passbook. Guess in the future we wont need notes & coins after all

Stramash
marco_funnyYour bullshiting again.... for once Ngairo, loathe as I am to say it, there is some substance to the post, though I am sure he paraphrased some articles rather than doing the analysis himself as his post suggests!. Studies have shown, for instance, that over 90% of paper money in the US contains traces of cocaine (trace amounts so dont start wiping your finher over your notes) and really the rest; traces of urine etc, are not that surprising. Though, can I just add; the STD angle is leaning towards bullshit; there is NO way an STD could be passed via banknotes; the bacteria simply dont survive for long in that sort of environment. Very learned indeed........ hey - I aint an idiot ALL the time  Luckily I have learned all the myths, risks and realities on such things as STDs, hepatitis and HIV (not because I frequent nana) as my usual client group are high risk in all these infections. One thing I wasn't sure of, so have gone off an researched, was his statement vis a vis swine flu virus on the notes surviving up to 3 hours. On this he is close but no cigar. The virus will last longer on hard surfaces (such as door handles, tables etc) but on soft surfaces (such as banknotes) it will only survive for around 20 minutes or so. Think it goes back to what Neung said in the swine flu thread (and gave damn good advice and some people made fun of it). It is advisable to regularly and thoroughly wash your hands, especially when you have been in public areas such as restuarants, public transport etc. Ok, it's saturday, thats enough sensible posts from me.

If this is the one your 'doctor' friend meant, then it is plausible. Any other STD? No chance whatsoever. Proven cases of HIV transmission from feeding patients? what a lot of f*cking crap. Give me links to where these cases are documented, other than in your addled brain. 'In the health care setting, workers have been infected with HIV after being stuck with needles containing HIV-infected blood or, less frequently, after infected blood gets into a worker?s open cut or a mucous membrane (for example, the eyes or inside of the nose).' (from the CDC) Your post a few months ago was full of myth and half truth and is the sort of half brained post that scares people for no reason at all. Most bacteria and viruses have a very short survival rate outside the human body, and this survival rate depends on the surface involved; hard surface is longer, short surface is very short.
