inamorato25
someone who judges and condemns people based on the effort they put into a trite website name does nothing but betray how uncool they really are. I have to agree with Steve here. WB, what is the point of even asking the question? OK, so now we know that you think that the names of you and your online friends are cool and short. But why do you have to then insult the rest of the TF community who don't conform to your definition of cool? You could have made your post a lot more positive by just saying the cool names you like, and asking why people like their own online names. No need to specify that "some ppl simply can NOT...come up with something short & cool." Cool is in how we treat each other in the community. Not in the name. As such, where do you think you rate on the TF coolness meter? (Note: Arrogance is not the same as cool, in case you were wondering) 8)

Miguksaram
Miguksaram - is the english phonetic translation of the Korean word for "American". Although I must admit it probably should be spelled "Migooksaram" but when I made my original @hotmail account 7 years ago I couldn't get that spelling so I have stuck with "Miguksaram" since. In any case, yeah I would say it fits pretty well

I would reply "na nin, canada saram!" too which of course, would freak them out...afterall....how could anyone who wasn't korean possibly understand what they were saying????? christ hated that ****. Miguk does in Fact mean "America" Mi - comes from the chinese character "Beautiful" Guk - comes from the chinese character "Country" Don't ask me why they decided to call "America" Beautiful Country but I won't complain, lol. Saram however is not a Sino word, its a pure Korean word which in Chinese would be the equal of "In" which means "Person/People" It is speculated that the American slang word for Korean "Gook" (no offense meant by posting this word) came about during the Korean War when all the little kids would point at the American Soldiers and say "Miguk" over and over. The soldiers understood it as "Me, Gook". Don't know if this is true but certainly a believable theory. Go back before 2000 and a westerner speaking Korean was RARE indeed. Now days you will find it doesn't bring as much of a SHOCK factor to those in metropolital cities.

I was there from 2002 - 2004...kids yelling "Miguksaram!" at me from accross the street, whilst in a shop, in elevators etc was a DAILY occurance...i lived in Gwangu, the 4th or 5th largest city in Korea. We were there during the same period then, I was 2001 to 2004. I was stationed/living in a little town/city called Songtan, it was next to Osan/PyeongTaek which is about 45 minutes South of Seoul. I never actually made it to Gwangu, but did spend some time in Daegu and Pusan.
