Briton George Stanley Gibbs is among those arrested in Thailand The men were arrested at their homes in Pattaya and charged with sexually abusing children under the age of 15. The suspects are George Stanley Gibbs, 67, from the UK, and Karl Erik Berglund, 60, and Lars Anders Ellerman, 65, from Sweden. Police chief Chaiwat Ketworrachai said officers confiscated sex toys, still and video cameras, computers and a photo album of naked children during the arrests. He said the suspects had co-operated with police, but added: "We cannot give more detail before the cases are filed to the prosecutors." If found guilty, the men could face up to 20 years in jail. Several south east Asian countries - including Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam - are popular with paedophiles because of lax law enforcement and poverty that forces children into prostitution. A number of high-profile suspects have been caught in Thailand, including Canadian teacher Christopher Paul Neil. Neil was arrested in 2007 after an Interpol manhunt, sparked by some 200 internet photos showing him allegedly abusing Vietnamese and Cambodian boys. Unfortunately it doesn't deter the streams of Asian pedophiles that seem to fall under the media radar. If the Asian authorities and media reported with such vigor and aggression i think the results would be stunning. These men will get what they deserve for sure. I just hope one day the thousands of Thai, Chinese and JAPANESE etc etc will get their comeuppance also. Behind every western pedo here in in Thai or wherever, is an asian trafficker/supplier and a startling number of these are asian woman as well as men. From The Nation: 50-year jail term against 'Phra Pawana Phuttho' upheld The Supreme Court Thursday upheld the lower court's ruling handing a 50year imprisonment term to a former Buddhist abbot of Nakhon Pathom's Wat Sampran, on charges of raping and molesting nine hilltribe girls under the age of 15. Chamlong Polseu, 65, once a popular spiritual leader known by his clerical name Phra Pawana Phuttho, was sentenced to 160 years in prison for raping and molesting underage girls, reduced to 50 years due to Thai legal limits. Charged with the crimes dating back to 1988, the meditation guru was arrested in 1995 after hilltribe girls housed in a dormitory he had built in the temple came forward with the accusations, which led to him being defrocked. If the Thai/Asian police did some ******* work for a change western statistics/rankings would be toppled overnight and replaced with asian figures.. Why you think these disgusting perverts come to here to perpetrate such crimes? Cause Asia is a cesspool of underage and illegal sex, so much so it's catered more like a sport than an illegal activity.. it disgusts me how life is so meaningless and cheap here. Just a rant but i wish we could get some prospective. Until there is freedom of speech and open media we'll never truly know how bad it is.
