For me, the overall point in life is to create more life.

Well with Italian blood running through my veins.....it is genetically implanted in me that I must reproduce! However, I am yet to figure out whether I want a basketball team, a football team or even a gridiron team (including both defensive and offensive teams)! :)

But I have to agree as the great man drlovelife8 once said "(I) Do however greatly enjoy the act which makes babies and intend to continue with this."

Practice makes perfect!

It's true about Italian families, though...I think there will be as many Italians in the world as there are Chinese soon!

I want to have my own child. I wanna raise she / he up.

Problem is I'm still single :P

Some ppl told me to go to sperm bank, and get good one before I get older than. Cuz it's too risky to have baby for women who are over 35.

Well, I don't think I should raise my baby alone... I still need a husband and "we" should raise our baby.

I know it's hard to be a good mother, but if I have a chance I will.

Well the Italian president is leading by example through his love of the fairer sex! Unfortunately most Italians are busy eating pasta, drinking vino or looking at themselves in the mirror :)

I wonder if all or most Thai's have a bad view of adoption? Is adoption something evil in Thai society.

I had a Thai-GF a few years ago that was 39 and could not have a child without complicated and risky IVF. So I suggested adoption and she was horrified.

My current more open-minded and loving Thai-GF also wants one child but is 37 and has some risk due to a medical situation with one oviduct. She also said she would not want to raise any child that did not come from us...

What about all the cute poor Thai children ages 4 to 6 with no parents or parents are drug addicts and/or are in jail ?

Do you have kids?

No, I don?t have?

Do you plan on having kids?

Well aahh....., I?m not sure because I think it is up to my life partner qualification. I think nature build male human up for 2 things. The first is the farther who have children living at home, living away or all grown up. The second is the shagger who don?t have and don?t want any kid..

If I planed to have kid he has to prove that he could be a good farther of my son, oh I prefer a boy and it would be good if he looks like his farther ( I presumed) coz if he looks like me I?m afraid he couldn?t get laid in the future and he would blame me for that ..hehe?:lol:

P.S. I couldn?t be a good mom alone without a good farther

(it?s about cooperation.......)

So let say I want kid but not necessary if my life partner is only a shagger and before thinking of having kid I should concern about finding a life partner first?hehe?  :P:lol:

What happens if your shagger ends up being a life partner?!

That's good you prefer a boy...I think most guys prefer having boys, though in the end you'll love either gender the same.

Keep up the good search!

hell yeah. I have 2 amazing kids; funny, intelligent and well grounded. Despite the fact that we as a family are reasonably well off, they aren't spoiled in any other way than some great travelling. They earn their allowance every month through chores; from helping out at home to coming down and sweeping up the workshops. They have mobile phones, but the allowance on them is tied in to their monthly allowance so once it's gone, tough.

But...there are millions of people out there who simply should not be allowed to have kids; when you see trailer trash families going past with 5, 6 or 7 kids, you have to wonder how the hell it's allowed. And it's not just about being a drain on the rest of the country, it's the fact that they are denying their own kids opportunities through their selfishness.

There should be some sort of means tested cap on how many kids you can have; if you can't afford to feed, clothe and educate them then don't have them.

And tied in to this there should also be a test of a person's ability to parent. When you read countless tales of neglect and abuse by parents then it just makes you want to take a glock to the b*stards' heads (excuse my language)

And while it's great to see many diseases being eradicated, it does mean that many third world countries are having exploding populations unchecked by disease as they were before. So there should be some sort of control linked to aid; hell, I know control seems an almost fascist word to use but I hope you guys get where I'm coming from.

For me, the overall point in life is to create more life. I've met a lot of people that don't share this opinion. I just can't imagine a life without having children of my own at some point.

Do you have kids? Do you plan on having kids?

And of course...why?!!

You're right. The most basic drive all living things have is to procreate and recreate themselves. It's our most basic instinct.

The only way most people have to make a lasting impression on the world is to sire offspring. Maybe they, or theirs, can achieve something which we couldn't. Unless we've been especially contributive to society, the only people who would remember us when we're gone are our kids. And if they're notable, well, they're ours, so we must be too.

Even if they achieve nothing of note, at least they're a part of you which will last beyond your own demise.

Children should be a result of acute forethought. Planned in the utmost detail. Prepared for and allowed for. They should arrive into a place in which they are given any and every opportunity to excel. To better their forebears in each and every way.

To bring a child into this world with anything but the best opportunities, the means by which to achieve their dreams and the opportunity, is nothing short of abandonment of our responsibilty to them.

When you say your final goodbye, you will do it in the knowledge that your legacy had the best opportunity you could provide them with.

That's the only thing worth being here for.

Damn. So true, and so scary.

Maybe a bit overboard with planning for the utmost ideal and only giving the best opportunities, but spot on with the general idea. Looking forward to the final goodbye is also a bit hard to do at the moment ;)

Hell yeah! I could not agree more - already the first half-sentence is extremely appealing! If you want to drive a car, you have to pass a driving test, if you want to do a qualified job you have to go through schools, universities, training, courses etc. but every idiot is allowed to reproduce (which has a life-long impact!) without any preparation!
