I did read somewhere that Thai culture shows a need to keep peace even if it means a lie.......... maybe all those white ones have added up for the people on this topic airing their bunions...........I hope my last comments don't get blown put of proportion. It depends if you can deal with the motive...... some of those 'lies' are to keep the peace some are complete hum-dingers. I don't know if Thais lie more than others. But I do know that honesty, even if it creates some negativety is slightly and I do mean slighty, more the norm in the UK and some other western countries. But the thread starter does have a point, then again so does everyone else. I do smell a bit of " Lets attack the farang and show our love of all things Thai" by other farangs on this topic. I find it much more fascinating when I am drinking, probably because the rule of intellect clicks in: I feel much smarter, but in reality I am thinking much dumber. (Pardon me, I think I am about to compose a hit country western tune...) All the world is a projection and people see what they want to see and seem to attract just what they need. I don't live full time in Thailand, but have a few male Thai friends that I have known for over 8 years, they seem to be always working, and rarely take long vacations. Speaking for the cats of world, may I say that BeeJ's reference to Chinatown and skinned cats, has no appeal. ;-)...............and I will never eat cottage cheese again. Back home women treat you like the plague but in thailand you discover you can obtain the illusion that anybody gives a **** about you , for a small fee in certain "special" bars . But you get confused and soon you buy into your own hype ...this goes too far and your little bubble gets popped ..which inevitably leads to the next step into the equation... namely coming onto thailandfriends and posting things like "why do all Thai girls lie" now let that be the end of it .
