English_Bob
The votes are in (but you still can't drink for another 8 hours). Early exit polls show a landslide for Peua Thai - http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/479839-thaksin-allies-in-thai-election-landslide-exit-polls/ Official results at about 10 pm. Minus a few candidates for Red Cards. We just entered the twilight zone. Things are going to get very nasty now.
Exploring
It seems we can not claim that highly educated people who are in Bangkok will always vote for Democrat party anymore. It a big lie marketing anyway. Edited July 3, 2011 by Exploring kaunitz

It a big lie marketing anyway. That's not it at all. Bangkok is now 50% crammed with people from the rural areas. Those people still maintain their blind loyalty to Thaksin. koolbreez
Yingluck still has charges pending with the SEC that could disqualify her. They are supposed to take up the case tomorrow. It was postponed until after the election. We'll still see. Thaksin is already dictating how the government will be formed....lololol. People were blind to how much effect Thaksin's "vote no" campaign would have.

Chatty
I'm totally upset to see the result, sad enough to turn on TV right now... It's not about MR.TOXIN but all about the majority of Thai ppl. Are they fukking blind? It's insane to hear 9 years ahead vision of PT. it's incredible, impossible... Plus, some of my friends couldn't vote... it's fukking unfair, they came to vote but the staff at the unit told them they couldn't vote cuz they registered requesting vote outside area 4 years ago and they didn't cancel it. That's crap, no one tell them about it before, they knew when they were at the place.... Edited July 3, 2011 by Chatty

Exploring
Better to get moving forwards than forming any mobs. I am f*cking bored.
English_Bob
I'm losing faith in Thai people, to be honest. Me too... I checked Facebook all day and went out with friends at night. All the people I like and respect are gutted by this result. I consider them to be the smart people. I'm glad none of my friends are happy about this. It means I chose wisely. I just feel like settling back, watching the story unfold and saying 'Som nam naa' when it all goes wrong.
Chatty
My FB wall fulled of disappointed comment for this election... my both side of classmates BA. and ME. and my coworkers have same comments. My imagination.. what if Tudtu, Jatuporn Prompan will be the Minister of Justice, prison will be nicer... hahaha. He had experience in there. LakeGeneve
It seems we can not claim that highly educated people who are in Bangkok will always vote for Democrat party anymore. It a big lie marketing anyway. You are right... .....the "highly educated people" is just a big marketing lie! I was a bit shocked when I saw the exit polls for BKK which ranged from 5-10 seats for the Dems, as I expected they would at least win a majority of the seats. Later, as the results came through the picture was more better than I anticipated. The Dems seem to have won 23 of the 33 in BKK which is basically the same as the 27 of 36 at the 07 election. He had experience in there. I had thought that he was not permitted to vote? If so, then I understand that he will not be eligible to be a MP. bigKus
I cant lose faith, whoever forming the government I will never love my country less. I dont wanna know how much disappointed I had yesterday (and still today, tomorrow and the days after) but I dotn want to see anything goes wrong with this country nomore. I have been let down, but i have to live with it and get over it. (I went to see Transformer 3 yesterday, my mind wandered and lost somewhere very often during watch... when the movie ended, only in mind was I want to invite Optimus Prime to work as our Prime Minister )

pandorea
Members at my university group on FB are jumping kangaroo at the moment because Yingluck graduated from CMU. *sigh*... I noticed that she graduated in year 2531 ( 1988) and then graduated from University of Kentucky Master degree in public administration year 2533 (1990). That was quite fast..thinking of she has to pass Toefl exam, get the application approve, visa, find a place to stay and all that. She might be a Super Woman!! pandorea
After seeing the interviews with her in English I simply cannot believe she completed a higher education degree in English. I posted the same thing on a CMU facebook group and people got piss. *sigh*.... I asked to see her certificate and wanted to know if she graduated from CMU with first-class honor. I mean, any who can get a master from a U. in USA within less than 2 years, the who must be a genius, nothing less!

English_Bob
I heard Thaksin speak English... He sucks. So the idea that he wrote his Doctorate thesis in English is a bald-faced lie. It was ghost written (ie someone else wrote it for him). I imagine Lingsuck's degree followed a similar pattern. I just wrote my first letter to Bangkok Post in more than a year... Dear Postbag. So the results are in. To all intents and purposes, Thailand has its new PM. I will be very interested to see what happens during the next two years. I say two years because that's how long Abhisit had to prove himself - all the while dealing with the UDD chaos. So, within the next two years, I expect to see poor people less dependent on debt, better education, tablet computers, food prices down, an end to the Southern troubles, less corruption and a severe reduction in the number of drugs available in Thailand. I will be very interested to see if any of these are addressed before Thaksin's amnesty and return of 46 billion baht. That's only fair, right? No double standards. English Bob I hope Bangkok Post print it - but I doubt it.
pandorea
Abhisit is a true gentleman. He posted on FB last night to thank people who voted for him and to congratulate YL of PT, wish her to do the best for the country. He has been a shinning example of how to lose gracefully. What if the result is the other way around, things might turn ugly.
