Uhm . . . you do realize that the US, UK, France, Costa Rica, and Australia (plus a few others that don't jump to the top of my head) all have red, white, and blue flags, don't you? The colors don't belong to Thailand. In fact, the flag was adopted in 1917 under Rama VI and he chose the colors (in part) because they were the colors of Thailand's allies during WWI (UK, France, Serbia, Russia) although Rama VI did assign different meanings to the colors (Thai nation, Buddhism, and the monarchy). Rama VI's inspiration of using stripes was also based on his desire to have Thailand's flag appear more like the European flags as ever since Rama II the flag had been solid red with a white elephant in the center.

A quick Google search does seem to indicate that there is a National Flag Act but the only references to it I can find (in English) are a Thai woman in the UK who put the flag on a porn website which the Thai government didn't take too kindly to and some dude who tried to amend the law in 2007 making it mandatory that all people, even motorists would have to pause at 8am and 6pm daily for the raising and lowering of the Thai flag.

But if it's something that Thai people might be offended by that's all one needs to say. That's a perfectly valid reason not to work with those color schemes.

About Thai flag and colour of the flag, I think you better check it with the lawyers team. Maybe no website base in TH use red, white blue because they are not allowed.

Just to be on the safe side, stay away from those colour.

and I know that many Thai people outside Thailand put Thai flag everywhere. oh, well I'm not in the mood to discuss about this Thai flag thing. Like I say, ask a lawyer or perhaps a police man, they might know something.

Use the colours, it will look nice. Thailand doesn't have rights to them.

As for the comments about naked girls in pools. For thousands of people in Bangkok that is quite often the type of thing that happens at the weekend so why not.

Talk about defending something purely because it is Thai!!!!

You know what is the problem? It's because the design is fail, we have to spend like 2-4 threads for this. and then someone thinks it's good idea to use Thai flag.

I just noticed an advert for UK pensions on this site which uses a Union Jack flag.

How dare to you allow the use of those colours which clearly belong to the UK.

Sounds retarded doesn't it.

I actually love seeing the Union Jack despite not particularly admiring the direction of my country.

I also noticed that the TF logo + the number of unread messages indicator + the background = red, white and blue......... Now you in trouble boys!

This is not "New Idea" but it works well if you ask for participation. :wink:

And one more thing, we don't need only 1 logo but 10-20 or so

then set one up and change another one every month or every 3 months or 6 months up to you
