yes, it wasn't like this. but SOME of the issues are the same.

that's the key to TS' popularity isn't it? he's able to exploit genuine social issues to his political advantage.

But has the f*cker artificially created those social issues to exploit, be it on purpose or accidentally!

Its always a picnic bCool, there is little passion there, more like a jolly day out rather than a bunch of people who REALLY want to over throw a government.

no i don't think TS has the brains or skills to create a rigidly stratified society. that takes time, among other things.

credit to the reds though, getting TS to spend his money well. Leo's half decent. better than that godawful piss with the horsie on the label. if TS brings in a crate or two of Beer Lao i may need to borrow that red polo shirt of yours...

Picnic or not TS has to pay the bill.

Just on the evening news here, Nong 1. They said over 100000 people were out and protesting. No beer to be found in the news, the reporter interview 2 tuk tuk drivers. They were very polite they said, all they want was a new election.

I don't take any side, btw. I say it from what I've heard from the news.

Ok, Rob is the only exception. :) But certainly not George Dubbya!

I know what you mean...My point was that most countries have stereotypes within its own borders, and it's normal.

Denying that your country has stereotypes of its own people is absurd.

Ahem...Boston Boy Rob..."the only exception" ???

Rob he does seem to have that myoptic...Northeaster bit about him...and you'll note how he systematically reduced our numbers by banning our brother from Kentucky while he was in power!!!!!!

__back to OP ___ it seems that until Thailand's well heeled broaden the the participation ( and where monies are spent) they will be vunerable to a demigod like TS... and serious stereotypes only drag any society down towards confrontation even a gentle one like Thailand.

BTW --Boston Rob..recalling where George Dubbya was bread / born / hungout / educated ( Yale & Harvard --which is in Boston Rob )

--- Oh dear he is one of yours!! :lol::P no wonder it took the Eastern media to turn him into a Cowboy :P

The leaders claim red people will come like 1 million, if as they said now it's over 100000 ppl. so... there are only 900000 ppl left. lol

Calling gov. to step down? I don't think they can do, i didn't look down them but if the gov. is that weak they can't take care of Thailand.

195 days for yellow shirt protester but Samak gov. Somchai gov. never step down until TRT verdict day. So if it takes only 3 days for red shirt? hmmm

Plus most red shirt ppl are from outside BKK. so it's not easy to take turn when ppl get tired from the heat. Plus some of them got diarhea from spoiled food.

So, I think the leaders want to end the game in one or two days. But how? violence? or they invite the other sides to do?

Nong1 kha, my point was - most people outside Thailand hear and see different info. from what people in TH see.

The issue between Bangkok people and Non-Bangkok has been there for generations, you know what I mean.

Anyway, I want the best for Thailand, Nong 1.

******* hell, 3,000,000 cc of blood wasted.

Thai Red Cross NEED blood so badly.

The Red Shirts are a PR NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!! They do them selves no favours what so ever, just look backward and sick every step of the way.

If they wanted to make a point they would hunger strike on site, but hey, they are Thai, take their food away and they'll go mad within 4 hours!

just as i was marvelling over how peaceful it's been so far i'm hearing a rumor that two soldiers were shot with an m79 grenade launcher. can anyone verify this?

Confirm!! they are in Mongutkloa Hospital now...

http://www.bangkokpost.com/breakingnews/171617/two-soldiers-wounded-in-m79-attack

Seh Daeng says the government may have shot their own soldiers... Well, he would, wouldn't he?

Why did they release that guy? Probably so he could do stuff like this and discredit the Reds even more.

Tomorrow at 6pm, if the PM still refused to do what they want.....they will try to get blood 1 million cc and put it in front of the Government House.

From Bangkok Post online

UDD to take blood donation tonight

* Published: 15/03/2010 at 04:10 PM

* Online news: News Updates

The United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship has contacted five hospitals for medical staff and equipment to take blood from the red-shirt protesters, UDD core member Arisman Pongruangrong said on Monday.

The UDD has declared to initally take as much as 1 million cubic centimetres of blood donated by the red shirts and pour it around the Government House in another step to mount pressure for House dissolution after Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva clearly rejected the deman.

Mr Arisman said the UDD had asked for 20-30 medical staff from each hospital. The protesters would be first asked to donate 10cc of blood, starting Monday night.

UDD leaders would donate their blood Tuesday morning, said Mr Arisman, who said he himself would donate 50cc.

"Donating of 10cc of blood would not be harmful to health," he said.

A source said the Thai Red Cross Society, if asked, would not be able to help take blood from the protesters for a protest since it would do so only when blood is donated for other people or taken in health examination.

Seriously? I doubt this will happen... what medical professionals are going to take blood from 100,000+ people and watch it poured on the floor? And who will pay for the 100,000 syringes (assuming they don't reuse them)?

I don't think we'll see any Shinawatra blood in this protest.

This could be their final f*ck up, it will REALLY disgust a lot of people.

Absolutely... human blood thrown on the floor! What century are they living in?

But, they promised us a 'million man march' and showed up with 10% of that number... they'll probably end up chucking some red paint on the floor.

I mean if someone decided they were going to take my blood (and 99,999 of my friends) without asking me, I'd be pretty pissed off! Especially if the guy who will benefit the most isn't joining in...

Tell you what... you can have 10cc of my blood, if Thaksin gives 8 pints of his, dusty, Mr Burns-type blood...

Police arrested a suspect in grenade attack... Hope it's Seh Daeng... although he wouldn't actually do any wet work himself...

Released suspect... no forensic evidence in the truck.... (amazing they can do that test in 2 hours, but it takes 2 years to bring anyone to trial.)

UDD threatens to lay siege to barracks

3,500 troop boost as reds prepare to march

Published: 15/03/2010 at 12:00 AM

Newspaper section: News

The 11th Infantry Regiment in Bang Khen district is tightening security as pro-Thaksin Shinawatra demonstrators threaten to lay siege to the barracks and hold those inside hostage.

About 3,500 soldiers have been sent to the regiment to reinforce the 1,050 soldiers already in position, an army source said yesterday.

The reinforcements would secure the whole compound. More barbed wire has been placed around the building which is being used by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and his deputy Suthep Thaugsuban as their peacekeeping command centre.

The military compound is also the temporary residence of Mr Abhisit, Mr Suthep and other key cabinet members.

It also houses the peacekeeping operation command chaired by Mr Suthep, who is monitoring the rally by the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship.

UDD leader and Puea Thai Party MP Jatuporn Prompan announced last night red shirt demonstrators would march from Ratchadamnoen Avenue to the infantry regiment at 9am today. The blockade would start at noon.

Mr Suthep said the protest could go ahead if the UDD played by the rules. However, he warned that if protesters paralysed traffic around the barracks, security authorities would act.

UDD leader Arisman Pongruengrong warned that demonstrators would react violently if the government tried to use force against the demonstrators or the army mounted a coup.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has obtained an arrest warrant for Mr Arisman.

Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB) chief Santan Chayanont has approved the arrest, but Pol Maj Gen Piya Uthayo, spokesman for the MPB, said yesterday the arrest should be postponed if it would cause problems.

The People's Alliance for Democracy lodged a complaint with the CIB on Monday, alleging Mr Arisman had incited people at rallies in front of army headquarters in Bangkok on Jan 29 and in Khon Kaen on Jan 31 to cause trouble for the government.

Yesterday, Puea Thai Party MP for Samut Prakan Pracha Prasopdee took about 2,000 red shirt demonstrators to Sukhumvit Soi 31, which houses Mr Abhisit's home in Bangkok.

Security authorities prevented the demonstrators from entering the road off Sukhumvit Road.

The demonstrators, many of whom were riding motorcycles, demanded that the prime minister dissolve the House by noon today. They filed a letter with a police officer, shouted about Mr Abhisit for 10 minutes, and left for their main rally venue on Ratchadamnoen Avenue.

Blood pouring at Govt House - photos.

I thought I'd just find it ridiculous.... but it was offensive.

And look at this ******* idiot Arisman! With his cowboy hat and amulets...

http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/thaksin-judgement-day/vdo

I'm embarrassed for Thailand! Black magic? Amulets? Ritual blood letting? What ******* century are they living in?

How long is a political term in Thailand? 4 years? And Abhisit has done 2 already?

Shut the **** up - organise your party - lose the nutcases and fanatics and, if there's anyone left, run as a real party in 24 months' time!

******* children!
